MARCO BENEVENTO Announces WEST COAST Shows In Support of New 3-CD Set LIVE AT TONIC

Brooklyn, NY — Marco Benevento will perform a series of shows on the West Coast in August to support the release of his first ever solo project, the three-CD set Live At Tonic, due August 14 on Ropeadope. Best known as one half of the acclaimed post-jazz, indie rock experimentalists Benevento/Russo Duo, the visionary 29-year old keyboardist will be joined on the dates by Reed Mathis on electric guitar and bass and Matt Chamberlain on drums. As fans have come to expect, Benevento will hold court behind an arsenal of vintage keyboards, a grand piano, toy pianos, pedals, samplers, Speak & Spells and other circuit bent gadgets. Less familiar to his fans will be the solo piano renditions of songs by Leonard Cohen and Thelonious Monk and the searing trio improvisations created spontaneously out of thin air. As on Live At Tonic, there’s a good chance people will also hear material from artists as vast as Pink Floyd, Benny Goodman, My Morning Jacket and Carly Simon.
