This weekend Gregg Allman will be among the headliners at the Peach Music Festival which starts today at Montage Mountain in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Gregg discussed the festival and a potential The Allman Brothers Band reunion in a new interview with Rolling Stone.
The lineup for this weekend’s festival features a handful of Gregg’s former Allman Brothers band mates including Warren Haynes and Jaimoe. Allman says that fans shouldn’t expect a full-blown ABB reunion at Peach. “It’s a coincidence that we are on the same bills, because we are booked by different people. They don’t book us together so we can jam.” Gregg went on to share his most definitive statement yet about the potential for a future reunion of The Allman Brothers Band. “Check with me in two or four years — I don’t know the timeline — but if we did [reunite], we’d do it right. And to do it right, we’d do a whole damn tour. I’m not ruling that out, and I never did.”
Gregg’s comments come after he extended an olive branch to fellow co-founding Allman Brothers Band member Dickey Betts, which was quickly accepted by the guitarist. Yesterday Betts expounded on his relationship with Gregg and the possibility of making music together again.
