Dave Matthews Band Gets Loose At The Greek

By Scott Bernstein Aug 30, 2016 6:42 am PDT

The Dave Matthews Band continued a West Coast Tour with the first of two shows at the Greek in Berkeley on Monday night. Matthews and his mates dug into their repertoire for a Talking Heads cover that had gone unplayed this year and filled the setlist with gems.

DMB kicked off this year’s Greek run with “One Sweet World” and followed up with their first “Old Dirt Hill (Bring That Beat Back)” since early July. A number of songs that haven’t been played too often this summer followed, namely “The Song That Jane Likes,” “Proudest Monkey” and “Lie In Our Graves.” A special moment came towards the middle of the set, when Dave danced to a Yacht Rock-y vamp his mates came up with to the delight of the audience. A few songs later the Dave Matthews Band dusted off “Burning Down The House” for the first time since last September. The band said farewell with a trio version of “Oh” and a cover of “All Along The Watchtower.” DMB returns to the Greek tonight.
