ATOMGA GROOVE ALLIANCE shares a positive vibe with the masses. Using afrobeat as its foundation, the band branches out in styles including funk, jazz, Latin, and whatever inspires each of the 12 musicians in this eclectic project based out of Denver, Colorado.
Comprised of the sultry vocal duo of Devan Blake Jones and Laura Marques; the power-packed 4-piece horn section (Frank Roddy - tenor saxophone, Leah Concialdi - baritone saxophone, Alex Palesh - bass trombone and Tim Lee - trumpet); grooving, pocket percussion trifecta of Jeff Reiss on drum set and Jared “JBall” Fischer and Cody Schleuter on auxiliary percussion; the rock-solid foundation of Richard Schlozman on bass; Casey Hrdlicka on guitar and Peter Mouser on keyboards who both comp and solo equally well and equally tastefully, Atomga has a high-energy cast of musicians who leave nothing to be desired on stage.
With a solidified and full-fledged line-up, Atomga embarked on a quest to take the Colorado music scene by storm beginning Fall of 2010. The group has performed at legendary venues in Colorado including Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom, Belly Up - Aspen, Ullrs Tavern (Winter Park), and The Mercury Cafe. The group warmed up the stage for See-I (featuring members of Thievery Corporation) in November and received positive acclaim by several local publications including Listen Up Denver, Intity Weekly and Mountain News Weekly. Dedicated to nurturing the thriving arts community in Denver, Atomga has also performed “Art Out Loud” at Moe’s BBQ benefitting Denver Art Society--Denver’s only free K-12 arts school. With no intention of losing momentum and the unyielding desire to share the infectious energy music has to offer, Atomga Groove Alliance will connect your heart with your mind, body, and soul.
