cvDUB CV DUB is an instrumental mash-up of classic Jamaican Dub grooves, psychedelic guitar, and "Electric" era Jazz improvisation. Clyde "Chicken Bone" Sutliff, who leads the ensemble on trumpet and melodica, has years of heavyweight Reggae credit as a sideman with such legends as Michael Rose, Horace Andy, Don Carlos and Eek A Mouse. He has also collaborated with his good friend and Dub pioneer Scientist. Clyde's mixture of serious Roots Reggae grooves and Miles Davis and Eddie Harris styled Trumpet work provides cvDUB with it's special blend of these classic styles. Clyde's excursions-on-the-version are accompanied by old friends E. Blake Davis (Papa’s Culture) on guitar and Eddie Sassin (Undercover SKA) on drums. And on violin, Julia Evans adds unique melodic flavors to the cvDUB bula base. Bass is handled by House, who has performed with Tommy Guerrero, Buckethead, Brain (Gun's and Roses, Tom Waits), Larry Lalonde (Primus), Alfredo Ortiz (Beastie Boys, Ozomatli), DJ Disc (Herbie Hancock, Invisbl Skratch Piklz) and Adrian Young (No Doubt). House has also collaborated in the recording studio with Dub giant Bill Laswell and Funk fathers Bootsy Collins and Maceo Parker. Together these musicians create a powerful and original live experience.
