Barbwyre
Barbwyre Barbwyre was founded by two musician songwriters Jon Mitguard and Dana Rath. They are joined by Rob Wenig on six string bass to form a powerful sound that combines song craft with fiery instrumental explorations. At any point you may hear combinations of two part harmonies, mandolin, mandola, pedal steel, dobro, acoustic guitar, harmonica, and bass. They do a blend of musical styles commonly referred as Americana plus influences from Dana's Classical music background. He founded the Modern Mandolin Quartet with Mike Marshall, and has done performances with Chris Thile and Edgar Meyer. While Jon and Dana have been sought after for their accomplished musicianship for years, they have both developed strong vocal and songwriting skills. Barbwyre was born to finally bring their material, old and new to the fore front.
