As a musician who has been playing guitar and writing original music throughout his life, Ben Fuller finds his musical inspiration through his experiences traveling the world. New adventures have always played an integral role in Ben's life and he continues to seek out people and places that help him evolve as an artist. Through these encounters, Ben channels creative energy into his songwriting and performing.
Since childhood, Ben Fuller's passion has been music which shaped him as both an artist and a person. Moving around a lot growing up (from Southern California, to the Northeast, and back to the West Coast), Ben turned to singing and playing guitar as a way to ease into a new environment. He found music to be a great common denominator, a universal language, which everyone could relate to.
Ben Fuller formed the band Midside Stereo while living in Missoula, Montana between 1998-2006. He and his band enjoyed success playing at venues in and around Missoula and were invited to play at the Rockin' the Rivers festival in Bozeman. Looking to expand beyond Montana, Ben was drawn to the burgeoning music scene in Portland in 2006. Ben started the band Lucky U and played locally, building a solid Northwest following. Through fellow Portland musicians, Ben was connected with producer/musician Scott Fisher who produced, Ben Fuller's debut solo EP, Aquarian Son. Fisher hooked Ben up with a group of accomplished musicians (Zane Carney - Carney, Jeff Anthony -Sheryl Crow, Robin Everhart - Rival Sons, Justin Hopkins - Justin Hopkins and The Guilt) who brought new life to the songs. Mixed by Krish Sharma (Rolling Stones, Counting Crows) and multiple Grammy nominee Jesus “Chuy” Flores (Ricky Martin, Badly Drawn Boy) and mastered by Eddy Schreyer (Bob Dylan, Tracy Chapman), the EP is an oral timeline of Ben's past. Every song is unique and introspective and highlights Ben's gift for songwriting and crafting genuine music.
Currently residing in Lake Tahoe and playing throughout Northern California promoting Aquarian Son, Ben Fuller is beginning to receive national attention with airplay on AAA and college radio stations. Inspired by classic artists like Bob Dylan and The Beatles and contemporary artists like Wilco, Ryan Adams, and Gomez, Ben Fuller aims to create music that conjures up a similar cache of feelings that these artists are known for. With a laid-back philosophy and an engaging voice, Ben's songs are intimate and distinctive and his ability to create music that appeals to a broad audience is as unique as his sound. Every town or city that he has lived in or visited has had a part in forming the music he creates. Each of these experiences is reflected in the breadth of his musical interests. From rock to bluegrass, pop to alternative country, Ben Fuller has found an original sound that feels familiar and true.
