Ground Up (CO) Ground Up is a four-piece band home grown in Denver, Colorado. They create a unique live musical experience with unparalleled jamming style and ability to open up and delve into the full potential of their songs with influences from all genres of music. Ground Up rocks with abundant energy with a single goal to make you get up out of your seat and shake your ass. Each member of Ground Up provides their own distinct flavor to the music, seamlessly switching between funky riffs, high-energy improvised jams, and grooving mini-suites. A night with Ground up is a journey through various musical styles, exploring a myriad of musical and artistic expressions. Formed in the summer of 2009, Ground Up has created an extensive repertoire of music and is planning the release of their first album. They have already established themselves as a heavy-hitter in Colorado's music scene as a diverse, original and exciting improvisational band. Members of Ground up have proudly shared the stage alongside Steve Kimock, Allen Aucoin (Disco Biscuits), Yonder Mountain String Band, Col Bruce Hampton and the Codetalkers, members of Railroad Earth, Perpetual Groove, Max Creek, New Riders of the Purple Sage, North Mississippi Allstars, Moe, Donna Jean Godchaux, Strangefolk, Ryan Montbleau band, U-Melt, Melvin Sparks, Raq, The Breakfast, Sam Kinninger, the Zen Tricksters, Merl Saunders, The Big Wu, Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Rebirth Brass Band, Fishbone, Psychedelic Zombies, DJ Maseo (De La Sol), Flobots and many others. Ground Up is a family that encourages art and music in all of its forms to bring you a truly synesthetic experience, in which each stimulation evokes the sensation of another. In the end, it's all about bringing you good times through "feel good music."
