Matt has been cranking out blues-rock since he was an early teen. With all the trappings of a genuine guitar hero, he plays with fire in his fingers and blues in his soul. At age 13, he sunk his roots in the blues of Albert King, Howlin' Wolf, Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughn. By age 17, he had become an accomplished studio musician.
He has opened shows for national recording artists like B.B. King, Buddy Guy, Leslie West and Mountain, Johnny Winter, Edgar Winter, Robin Trower, The Marshall Tucker Band, Kansas, The Outlaws, Government Mule, Dickie Betts, Gretchen Wilson, The Screamin' Cheetah Wheelies, Bernard Allison, Chris Duarte, Robby Krieger, Billy Perry, Walter Trout, Labamba's Big Band, and Smokin' Joe Kubek.
In 2006, O'Ree won the coveted annual Guitar Center sponsored, "Guitarmageddon King of the Blues"crown, beating over 4,000 national competitors for the title. Over the past ten years of his career, O'Ree has toured all over the U.S., and recorded with Grammy Award winning producer Pete Anderson of Little Dog records. In April 2008, he released "Matt O'Ree Live", a CD/DVD package, which features songs from all three previous Matt O'Ree releases, as well as some new, previously unreleased, material. "Live"was filmed at the Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, NJ in July, 2007 and was also produced by six-time Emmy Award Winning Camera Crew. Matt was also picked to have his music featured in a new Discovery Channel series, "A Biker's Lifestyle – The Savage Roads", that aired in the Fall of 2008.
