PlayLow splices together a vast landscape of sound and artistic styles, suggesting perpetual break-through approaches to music as well as personal and cultural expression.
PlayLow is collaborative musical project by Dutch transplanted, Asheville, NC based DJ and producer, Bowie van Ling (DJ Bowie). Co-host of Asheville's Definition evenings. Hall of Fame, winner of Best DJ/Turntablist in WNC. He's shared the stage with: STS9, Big Boi, Widespread Panic, Bassnectar, Pretty Lights, Shpongle, Dieselboy, Tricky, DJ Vadim, Richard Devine, The Glitch Mob, Prefuse 73, Eliot Lipp, and even Eryka Badu. Performances include music and arts festivals: Moogfest, Bonnaroo, Pretty Light's Illumination, Trinumeral '08, 09, 10, The Echo Project, Luminescence, as well as hundreds of shows at venues spanning America and Europe for 15 years.
Bowie also created a traveling immersive multi-sensory experience called Brainquillity using patterns of light and sound known to envoke altered mind states.
