Dub War NYC is the first re-occurring dubstep party in North America! It was launched in the middle of a hot Brooklyn summer in 2005 by DJs Dave Q and Joe Nice. After the preliminary successes of its first two parties, Dub War partnered with longtime NYC drum 'n' bass crew Direct Drive and along with Juakali, Dub War’s resident MC, moved the party to Manhattan. In little over a year, Dub War hosted the absolute pinnacle of dubstep talent, namely Kode 9, Mala of Digital Mystiks/DMZ, Loefah, Skream, Hatcha and Youngsta. Mainstay New York venues like Avalon, Rothko, and BLVD/Crash Mansion, all got a taste of the Dub War sub-bass weight. Along with key articles in Then New York Times, XLR8R, Art Forum, Signal To Noise, URB Magazine (Joe Nice is listed as one of URB’s Top 100 DJs of 2006) and nationwide support on the ground and via internet blogs and forums, Dub War is poised as the go-to ambassadors of the sound.
