The Foreign Resort is energetic new wave rock. The music comprises the
noisy as well as the gentle. A resonant vocal rambling between restless
and frayed guitar sounds and a defiant rhythm section. The Cure stumbling
into Sonic Youth.
The Foreign Resort has existed for about two years. During this period the
band has played shows in Denmark, Germany and the US.
February 2009 the band released their debut album entitled Offshore.
The album was received by the Danish press with phrases emphasizing "the
excellent singer Mikkel Borbjerg Jakobsen's desperate vocal" and headlines
like "Grandiose and International Sound" and "Top Competent Danish Debut".
Offshore was produced by Bo Karlsson and mastered by Jan Eliasson (Spleen
United, The Raveonettes) The album will be released August 28 in Italy by
Black Nutria Independent Label and in October in the USA by Three Ring
Records.
