In 2005, Jake was nominated by the Illinois Country Music Association for "New Male Vocalist of the Year" and "Lead Guitarist of the Year." In the fall of 2005, "Entertainer of the Year" McVey and his band won in the first round of Colgate Country Showdown.

Performing professionally for the past six years, 27-year-old McVey brings together the best of old country with new dynamics. He has written over 200 songs in this style. Touring over 300 shows with his band in 2007, all across the United States, he has arrived on the Nashville scene, with cuts released to radio stations across the country.

Jake's first album, "Unknown Highway," produced by J. Gary Smith, features Spady Brannan on Bass Guitar, Jimmy Nichols on Keyboards, Tammy King on Fiddle and Mando, Dennis Holt on Drums and percussion, Steve Hinson on Steel Guitar, J.T. Corenflos on Lead Guitar, and Michael Spriggs on Acoustic Guitar.

Today Jake is busy putting the finishing touches on yet another album, even while traveling from show to show and flying to Nashville. He will again be singing lead vocals and playing lead guitar.
