Australian artist Anthony Snape has only been in the USA for a short time and he’s already had one of his songs featured in a hit US TV show on NBC. Growing up in a small town in regional Australia, Anthony’s passion for music was nurtured through participation in many local rock bands, school musicals and community events. At an early age, Anthony moved to Sydney to focus on a music career and the journey has been monumental.
Over his first few years in Sydney, Anthony became a true seasoned performer, including writing and recording the Sydney 2000 Olympic games theme song for the official national radio network. Anthony has also opened or performed alongside major artists and performed at sporting events as far from home as London, where he was invited to perform live during a major football match for an international television audience.
After working solidly in Australia as a session singer for radio and TV and as a backing vocalist for various high profile artists, Anthony independently released and toured his debut album DISAPPEARING DAY. Anthony’s first two singles were added to Australia’s major National commercial radio networks, regional commercial and community stations and the album was placed in stores through Metropolitan Groove Merchants (MGM) distribution, and is now available worldwide on ITUNES. This lead to interest from U.S. management and the successful acquisition of the highly sort after O-1 U.S. working visa, recognizing Anthony as an artist of extraordinary ability and allowing him to explore the potential of his music in the largest consumer market in the world. His honest, down to earth approach and solid work ethic (performing more than 200 shows a year) has earned Anthony the respect of his peers and audiences alike. Anthony has also won a number of awards (multi Music Oz award winner, Rising Star winner, graduate of the Talent Development Program in Sydney ) from his work in Australia.
After arriving in the USA in February 2008, Anthony garnered his first American TV placement. WALKING from his debut album DISAPPEARING DAY featured on the top rating NBC program "The Biggest Loser 5". It was broadcast into millions of American homes and aired around the world. He is about to embark on an American tour opening for guitar legend Tommy Emmanuel.
