Velvet Water
Velvet Water Smooth and Refreshing Music

Velvet Water is a Bluegrass/String/Jam Band from Winchester, Kentucky.

After Forming in 1991 and touring as a four piece rock band, the members of Velvet Water (VW) let life happen for a while, but in 2007, after years of playing in different musical arrangements, original members Jason Howard, Collin Wallace & Wes Faulkner decided that life was missing a great musical element, The Velvet Water element.

With a setup as a string band and years of experience, the group has a new outlook and a new member. Snook Hansel and his mandolin have been added to help solidify the string band lineup. Velvet Water is a group of extraordinary musicians that enjoy performing and there is a great spirit of friendship and appreciation at VW shows. You will hear Velvet Water cover songs from early traditional bluegrass as well as Americana acoustic music from groups like The Old Crow Medicine Show, Yonder Mountain String Band & Grateful Dead. VW also borrows a hint of freeform inspired sounds and jams, thus dubbing them a label in many circles as a JamGrass band.

Velvet Water performs at Major Music Festivals including The Goose on The Lake Festival, The Lil' Poppy Mountain Festival, The Gateway Music & Arts Festival as well as other music venues and performing concert series. Some of the nationally renowned recording artists the VW has shared the stage with include: The Goose Creek Symphony, Seven Mary Three, The Blind Corn Liquor Pickers, The Nappy Roots, Todd Snyder, Webb Wilder & the Beatniks, Barefoot Jerry, The Farewell Drifters, Monte Montgomery, Trampled By Turtles and many others.
