The project shut down in December 1969, concluding most reports were misidentifications of natural phenomena, posing no threat to national security.
About 6% of the flying objects remained unidentified.
40 years later, an unclassifiable band took the name Project Blue Book, piloting grooves from other worlds.
Since forming in 2006, Project Blue Book as played all across the country and just released its first studio EP, The Lampin' EP. The band is slated to record its first full length album this August with Soulive drummer, Alan Evans, producing and engineering.
