Bargain Music is a 4 man music collective straight out of L.B.&Huntington
Beach. Their eclectic sound is fairly reminiscent of the legendary band Sublime.
But make no mistake about it, a clone they are not - this band has soul.
They play a heady blend of soulful dubbed-out reggae, with a dash of hiphop,
funk, soul, folk, and straight up rock and roll and a little bit of country.
With a strong DIY ethic, alot of hard work and some help from reggae superstars
such as Lee 'Scratch' Perry, the Mad Professor, and Buju Banton, Bargain Music
has managed to raise an impressive fanbase in a short 2 years. . To help appease
the impatient fans the band rounded up a collection of songs in the Spring of
2001 for a CD called Cook the Beans. Its not so much an album as it is
a collection of unreleased, remixed and new songs.
As can be expected, the band has gone through some changes over the last couple
years. Josh -vocals, is the only original band member left . Zach (sacto zippy)of
Mystery meat and Off the Wagon, plays guitar.Rob from Skatanic Rednecks on drums,
and Matt on bass.
