Kelly was born and raised in Atlanta where her dad is a policeman and her mom can make a pickle out of anything. She got ants in her pants and moved to Chicago in 1997. She likes the crazy-looking, free-wheeling senior citizens walking around in sneakers on the streets here, unmolested. It gives her hopeful feelings for her future.
She's been singing as long as she can remember. Her brother used to punch her in the arm for constantly harmonizing with the radio, yet she could not put a sock in it.
She's been in lots of bands in Atlanta. The most fancy ones would be The Jody Grind and The Rock*A*Teens. If you don't like her singing (is such a thing possible?), then let her pour you a drink in her role as bartender at the Hideout.
