Charley Orlando
Charley Orlando You just never know what you'll get with a Charley Orlando show! His journey has brought him to a new sound he likes to call "Organica Groove" where he builds a landscape of sounds and groove on the fly with Ableton Live and his computer. All this accompanied by a voice, acoustic guitar and harmonica. It truly is an original adventure. One night Charley may sit in a chair with his acoustic and harmonica and belt out a sweet night of music and the next he will pull out his electric guitar and rock out to backing tracks he's recorded in his home studio and lately he's been mixing all of that and his "Organica Groove" in one show! Pulling from an original song catalog of 200+ songs and 100+ covers he travels a different path every night and always 100% from the heart. Having released 11 albums and 1 EP since 1992 Orlando continues his prolific career with 2 new releases in 2011. Due out in time for Summer Tour Charley plans to release a double CD of "Organica Groove" and "Folk Style" tunes followed by a tribute album to Bob Dylan. In his 20+ year career Orlando has opened(in his various bands and solo) for Peter Rowan (Old And In The Way), Jorma Kaukonen (Hot Tuna and Jefferson Airplane), David Lindley (Jackson Browne), John Dawson and David Nelson (New Riders Of The Purple Sage), Martin Fierro (Legion Of Mary and the Grateful Dead), Dave Mason & Jim Capaldi (Traffic), moe., Steve Kimock and Crazy Engine, Keller Williams, Yonder Mountain String Band, Leftover Salmon, String Cheese Incident, Umphrees McGee, Tony Trischka, Michael Glabicki (Rusted Root), Jerry Joseph, Chuck Prophet, Spin Doctor’s, Kid Rock and even 70’s and 80’s rockers Meatloaf and Quiet Riot as well as playing some 3,000 shows across North America while being placed on the GRAMMY Entry Ballot 28 times between the 48th and 50th GRAMMYS.
