Corleone
Corleone Corleone, a four-piece band based in Nashville, TN, has a unique sound that is impossible to ignore. Layering the beats and rhythms of dub, trance, rock and soul, Corleone creates a distinct yet deep sound that pulsates through the souls of their audiences around the southeast and beyond. Formed in the Spring of 2003, the band has shared the stage with many diverse acts such as The Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Col. Bruce Hampton and the Codetalkers, RAQ, The Breakfast, The Artemus Pyle Band, Jerry Joseph and the Jackmormons, Brothers Past, Elemental Harmonics, and Moonshine Still, just to name a few. A growing fan base has made them the hottest improvisational act in Tennessee, North Carolina, and Virginia. Their live shows have been praised by the media as "a circus of sound." The diversity of musical influences, which include Curtis Mayfield, the Disco Biscuits, Sonic Youth, Bob Marley, Black Sabbath and The Wu Tang Clan, are reflected in the bands distinctive sound. Corleone has been tearing up the southeastern jam scene playing major venues as well as underground parties and festivals, melting the crowd's minds and setting their feet free.

The band fuses soul, funk, and heavy improvisation around a human drum machine, creating a vibe for the soulful, bluesy storytelling of lead guitarist, John Peters, whose incredible vocals have mesmerized listeners everywhere. The backbone of Corleone is held down by James Fox, who plays a funky, greasy, dubbed out bass that pulsates through the hearts of the crowd while shaking the foundations of many venues. The heartbeat of the band is controlled by Jim Bonomo, who uses speed, precision, and the latest in looping techniques to coordinate the rhythmic output for the crowds to groove in, and the pocket for the band to erupt from. The pulse of the band is further accentuated by the afro-tribal percussive beats that Lucas Ketner brings to the stage. They frequently invite special guests to bring their flare of electronic noisemakers to further enhance the tripnotic movements of the band's colorful soundscapes. Corleone blends artistic skill, modern beats and rhythms, a passion for improvisation, and amazing vocals to create a unique and energetic melting pot of sound.

Currently, Corleone is touring extensively throughout the Southeast, playing major venues in and around Nashville. Such venues include: Exit/In, Mercy Lounge, 12th & Porter, Wall St., and Windows on the Cumberland; spreading outside their home base to the Hi-Tone Cafe in Memphis and Rhythm & Brews in Chattanooga; and continuing East to clubs and festivals throughout North Carolina and Virginia. On the college circuit, Corleone has played Vanderbilt's Rites of Spring and numerous events at the University of the South. Their breathtaking, five plus hour sets have made Corleone one of the hottest acts on the underground music scene. Their fan base is rapidly expanding via a dedicated street team and various message board discussions. Recently completing their debut, self-titled LP, Corleone's music has been praised as a breath of fresh air. This live, improvisational band blends numerous musical styles, including electronic instruments, to create an original sound which is undeniably the hottest around. Tailor made for what music fans want, Corleone will blow your mind with the amount of musical talent that explodes on stage. In an age when electronic machines have over-shadowed musical ability and creativity, Corleone provides a live, organic, psychedelic experience generated from heart, soul and passion. Look for them in a city, festival or venue near you.
