Brides of Funkenstein Dawn Silva: Vocalist, Songwriter & Producer hails from Sacramento California and began her career as a background singer for Sly & the Family Stone. She has toured and recorded with artists such as Roy Ayers, Coolio, Ice Cube, The Gap Band, Eurthymic's Dave Stewart, B.B. King and others.

Jeanette Washington Perkins: Vocalist, Songwriter & Producer was born in Cleveland Ohio and started her career as one of the first females to sing and tour with Parliament Funkadelic.

These charismatic performers stood together on center stage with P/Funk and earned Platinum and Gold records for singing on hit records such as, Knee Deep, Flashlight, Tear The Roof Off, Make My Funk, Atomic Dog, One Nation Under A Group, Aqua Boogie and more...

In a genre of music dominated by males, the Brides were more than an off shoot group; they were critically acclaimed artists with record sales, awards and standing ovations before sellout crowds to prove it.

The Brides debut album "Funk or Walk" sold over 500,000 units and climbed to the # 7 slot of the R&B Billboard charts. The funky fem/duet was voted by Record World in 1978 as Top New R&B Group; and earning an R&B Award as Best New Female Group in 1979. The Brides eased into the Rock/Funk genre with their sophomore album release, "Never Buy Texas from a Cowboy" The album became an instant classic with its hip concept (Mother Wit meets funk) and high-octane vocals. Rolling Stone Magazine in 2001, named it as one of the 50 Coolest Albums of All Times. The Brides of Funkenstein were on the list with the likes of the Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan and others.
