Since the summer of 2000, The Greens have been solidifying their sound. Combining their eclectic world music tastes, passion for classic rock & roll, the powerful sounds of African-American jazz, blues, soul, and funk, as well as their Appalachian folk heritage, they began a mission to create new music with a timeless, perennial quality relevant for all people. In trying to describe their sound, The Greens ultimately created their own genre: "Neo-Classic Rock!"
Often compared to some of their classic rock icons, such as Creedence Clearwater Revival, Cream, and The Jimi Hendrix Experience, The Greens also impart a ubiquitous musical style that includes sounds from Johnny Cash to Frank Zappa, Fela Kuti to Otis Redding, and Bob Marley to Tom Waits. Mix these musical ingredients together and the result is The Greens! How can music taste so delicious!?!"
