Funkatronic are brothers Justin Caraher on drums, sampler, keyboard; Paul Caraher on guitar, bass, and vocals, and Obuamah Addy on percussion and vocals. The Caraher brothers have performed together since early youth growing up in Nashville where Paul took guitar lessons from blues great, Nick Nixon, who knew Hendrix and currently performs with Hendrix bassist, Billy Cox.
The Caraher brothers have toured the east coast, southeast, and midwest playing clubs and festivals like the Discover Jazz Festival in Burlington, Vermont, Mannerland Fest in North Carolina, and Equifunk in Pennsylvania. They have shared the stage with jazz legend, Billy Hart, avant guitarist, Dave Fiuczynski, and funk pioneer, George Porter. Some of the bands they have played shows with include Lotus, The Breakfast, Roots of Creation, Ulu, Moon Boot Lover, Goosepimp Orchestra, Consider the Source, Funk Nugget, The Indobox, and Charlie Hunter.
Funkatronic has also performed with the grammy-award winning rhythm section from the Derek Trucks Band including drummer, Yonrico Scott, keyboardist, Kofi Burbridge, and bassist, Todd Smallie.
Funkatronic's newest member is Obuamah Laud Addy on percussion and vocals. Obuamah has toured and recorded with jazz great, Wynton Marsalis, on an extended composition entitled, "Congo Square" for which he has written and contributed original music.
