Funkatronic are basically brothers Justin on drums and Paul on guitar and keyboard. They have performed together since early youth growing up in Nashville, and have toured the east coast and beyond with performances and festival appearances including the Discover Festival in Vermont, the Mannerland Festival in North Carolina and the Capitol Arts Festival in Rhode Island. The brothers have shared the stage with jazz legend, Billy Hart, avant-guitarist, Dave Fiuczynski, and blues great, James Nick Nixon. Some of the bands they have performed with include Lotus, The Breakfast, Ulu, and Moon Boot Lover. Also the vocalist, Toussaint, who now is with Soulive, joined Funkatronic for a jam in Boston in 2005 which was recorded live.
After moving to New England from Nashville, they recorded the cd, Caraher in 2002, which focuses on a mix of jazz, rock, and bluegrass and features four originals and four jazz standards. Their most recent cd, Up From the Underground, is available at Funkatronic.net, Itunes, and the Homegrown Music Network.
