Future Vintage is bringing a whole new sound to Tampa Bay. Their name is synonymous with their sonic vision – presenting original music that bridges the gap between all great Funk music past, present and future. The music is rooted in the classic Funk of the 70’s with further influence from the Hip Hop and Neo-Soul of the 80’s and 90’s and finally with an ear to what’s happening in Electronic music today.
A Future Vintage set can run the gamut of Funk styles from any of these decades. Tight, syncopated grooves, classic Hip Hop beats, Electro Funk, Afro-Latin and more traditional style Funk all mix into one dance-inducing concoction. Just try to stay seated, we dare you.
In addition to the standard format of the Keys/Bass/Drums trio Future Vintage brings modern technology to the fold by melding programmed drums and samples, drum machines and loops onto their live instrumentation, creating layer after layer of funky sound.
Future Vintage is led by Keyboardist/Composer Matt Giancola and features Trevor McDannel on Bass and Dean Rocco (D-Roc) on Acoustic and Electric Drums. Together they share years of combined experience cutting their teeth in various Funk outfits throughout the US. Be on the lookout for Future Vintage Tampa, the Bay just got a whole lot funkier.
