i was thinking the same thing. i heard they were supposed to get back together, but i guess now it is confirmed.

it also seems like this lineup is almost the same as the Bonnaroo lineup. I thought these festivals were supposed to be polar opposites?

is De La Rocha back in Rage now? I was just saying yesterday how badly I would like to see Air. This line up looks more enticing then past line ups...I wonder when they will start iffering the option of a $600 ticket if you get to walk around in a little air conditioned booth all day...then...i might just go to out to Indio.

I've been to every Bonnaroo. I'm not a rich man and this lineup could affect tradition. Hope the Roo has a trick up their sleve.

its about time rage get themselves back in gear. after all, most of their fans have had to suffer through that atrocious audioslave for the past five years.

Granted, I'm an admitted old fart. But this lineup reads like DJ voiceovers on a Mexican radio station. Nothing sounds even remotely familiar until a seemingly errant tidbit of non-translatable gold is tossed into the mix.

"Blah, blah, blah, blah-blah blah, blah, la musica del Willie Nelson y la Familia, blah, blah-blah blah, blah."

I'm all about eclectic mixes of music. But this is a bit out there. Hopefully, Willie, Gillian and Nickel Creek will play a stage with chicken wire at the front, because I fear they'll be as welcome as Jake and Elwood at Bob's Country Bunker.

Just wondering...Do you get a free tattoo and neon dye job for your $300 ticket and camping fee?

Since I'm such a "glass is half FULL" kind of guy, here's a Jambase-flavored alternative (also in the southwest) to this late April alternative gathering:

From today's jambands.com articles...

"Bob Weir & RatDog and the Los Lonely Boys will headline the McDowell Mountain Music Festival in April. The 4th annual music festival will feature will benefit the Boys Hope Girls Hope of Arizona and Phoenix Day Child & Family Learning Center, which serves local children and families in need. Other confirmed acts include The Neville Brothers, Toots & the Maytals, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, Railroad Earth, Tea Leaf Green, Jackie Greene, Gelatinous Groove, Walt Richardson & the Peaceful Warriors, 2 Tone Lizard Kings, and Azz Izz. The multi-band gathering will take place April 27-28 in Scottsdale, AZ."

And something tells me you may not have to pay $300 to camp and hear the music.

Rage isn't back. Rage is performing 1 show only. Zack is using this show (weirdly if I may add), as a means to get his solo career (which has been brewing in the L.A.-hiphop and "indy" Latino-fusion scene for quite some time now) on the radar. This is loosely (as with everything else right now in the media) from reputable sources (Guerilla Union and other L.A. area-based promoters) who Zack had informed about his "comeback" plans for early 2007. Not to sound like a f'n know-it-all (I think I've already annoyingly done that by now), but I thought I would put my two buck comment in for kicks just like the rest of us who love Rage and are HOPING TO GOD they don't bring out "Black Thought" of The Roots for a song or two. Costly ticket? You bet. But what isn't these days. The Battle of Indio has begun.

Come see Rage Against the Machine and pay $250...ya know...to the machine...

I'm going to have to agree with a few other ppl who posted. This is a pretty good lineup, but there's hardly any jam-savvy bands (not jamband-scene bands specifically but ya know... bands who jam, and I love jams), and also, the ticket price is a little ridonculous. Plus, all the way across the country for me, I personally am proly not gonna go.

What is hip? Hipper than hip? Definetely not this fest. I guess the promoters believe that if you book 1000000000000 bands it will make up for the fact that only a few of them are worth listening to for an entire show. Rage is cool, but they are in the Journey/Styx kareoke stage of their career (if you don't believe me I'm sure you'll see it at the festival). Just doesn't seem fresh or original to me, especially the with the prices, but if you wanna pay $300 for an Under The Bridge/Bulls on Parade sing-a-long (never heard THOSE songs before), go right ahead.

P.S.
If you do go to this festival check out Air and Infected Mushroom, two unique groups that will shine above and beyond many of the others. Headie ears will not be dissappointed.

only a few bands worth seeing??? Are you fuckin crazy?? Have you lost your mind?? Clearly you need to listen to more music than the "jam" scene. Don't get me wrong, I am a huge fan on the jamband scene, but there are 30-40 bands i would love to see at coachella and would love to see the entire show!!! Open your ears, there is more to hear than monotonous jams that go on for 30 minutes!!

1. Rage Against The Machine??? where did that come from? AND Bjork? Am I living in the correct year? This IS 2007, right?

2. $250??????????? Mother fucker! That's out of hand. Langerado's got some competition on the "greediest festival" circuit.

3. Willie, huh? Seems out of place but then again, if there's ANYTHING a lineup like this could use its Willie. Keep these kids real.

i drove through the area where Coachella is over the summer and just riding in the car i thought i was going to get heat stroke. I'll stick to my southeast festivals, thanks. See you at Wanee, and possibly B-Roo.

Grow up a little, wipe the snot off your nose....Nobody and I mean noboody has the exact same taste in music so it's all good!!! Hey wait my favorite color is blue why not spend all day bashing me b/c your favorite color is pink!!! get the picture.....looks like a great time ..go and have fun!!! see ya there

THANK YOU SMOKEY 82832! I agree, big f'n SURPRISE that Coachella is NOT a "jamband" festival. It's not SUPPOSED to be, so some kids here need to quit whining and try not to get your Calvin Klein tye-dyed panties in a bunch. If some of us here were anywhere near "jamband" fans, we wouldn't give a Ratdog's ass who's playing where and for how much cuz it's all just music. Christ! I loved Phish and dig a sh**load of so called "jambands" too but Jambase is a MUSIC site. If Coachella is such a Pepsi-Machine-Corporate festival, then B-Roo is just as good as Coke my friends. Radiohead played BOTH of these festivals, so as far as I'm concerned (and yes I know they're not a jamband, thanks) music festivals are exactly what they are. Music festivals. Meatloaf. Fuck.
