Yesterday, Leftover Salmon did a surprise set of music at the Snowball music festival in Avon, CO. March 4th marked the 10 year anniversary of co-founding band member Mark Vann. The band is in the middle of their first full length tour since 2004. On Tuesday and Wednesday of this week, Salmon plays the Fox Theatre in Boulder, CO for the 20th anniversary of the Fox. Below is a post from the band’s Facebook page and a vintage video featuring Vann with Salmon.

Howdy y’all, we hope this message finds you feeling good and loving life. Today, March 4th, is the tenth anniversary of the passing of our beloved friend and banjo player, Mark Vann. It seems like just yesterday that we lost our bluegrass buddy, and we think of him every day. We still find inspiration in his playing, his work ethic, and his love of a good time.
In honor of Mark we will be performing a special unannounced set today live from the Snowball Music Festival http://www.snowballmusicfestival.com/in Avon Colorado at 3:45 mst. We will also be streaming this set live http://www.ustream.tv/channel/leftoversalmon.
The celebration will continue March 6 and 7 at the Fox Theatre in Boulder. Leftover hasn’t played the Fox in 8 years! However, we have played the Fox more than any other band in its history. We think its very appropriate that we will be celebrating 20 years of Boulder’s wildest music venue on Tuesday and Wednesday. March Forth!
