Nathan Moore: Hippy Fiasco Show From Magic Capital Tonight

Troubadour extraordinaire Nathan Moore and his always broadcasting without a net Hippy Fiasco Rides Again crew will present a special performance this evening from their hotel room in Colon, MI at 8 pm EST. Watch it here.

Here’s a statement from Nathan about this evening’s hullabaloo:

Some of you may not know that I once changed my name to Percy Boyd and thought to be the worlds first folk Sleight of Hand Musician. I have been fascinated by and practicing magic since I was nine years old, a few years before I started writing songs.

A few years back I attended my first magic flea market where an older gentleman gave me a box of 1940's Tops magic magazines that were put out by Abbot's Magic in Colon, MI. Leafing through these gorgeous old magazines, one of the first things that caught my eye was that the owner/ editor was a man by the name of Percy Abbott. Percy! I fell in love with the vibe of the magazines and began decoupaging the old magic ads to boxes and Percy's editorial notes to pencils. I have been selling them for several years now at my merch table.

Well, it turns out that the store still exists at the very same address I have been glueing to boxes for years. Hippy Fiasco Rides Again has fulfilled a dream and brought me to it's door. It turns out that the history of magic here began way before Percy. From witch craft to Harry Blackstone, who is buried here along with many other well known magicians. I am completely fascinated by this town in many ways and tonight we will be doing a special broadcast from the hotel to tell this story, sing some songs and do some magic.
