Bob Weir
On Tuesday, June 21 at the California Film Institute in San Rafael, CA, Director Louie Psihoyos and marine mammal specialist Ric O’Barry will present and discuss a screening of their 2010 Academy Award-winning documentary The Cove, along with a special live performance by the Grateful Dead‘s Bob Weir, in an evening that benefits Save Japan Dolphins, a project of Earth Island Institute.

The Cove tells the amazing true story of an elite team of activists, filmmakers and free divers, including O’Barry and Psihoyos, who embarked on a covert mission to penetrate a hidden cove in Japan, shining light on a dark and deadly secret.

A project of the Earth Island Institute, which encourages activism around environmental issues and provides public education, Save Japan Dolphins promotes eco-tourism in Japan as an alternative to the killing of whales and dolphins.
