Last year, upon concluding a successful national tour in Colorado, Albino! managed to find a recording studio in Denver that could accommodate all eleven musicians playing in one space together. While in the Mile High City, the band enjoyed three productive days of recording, far from the distractions of home.
The band enlisted the old school funk pedigree of renowned Bay Area mixing engineer Dan Prothero (Galactic, Robert Walter, Garage A Trois) to tweak up Peralta House‘s nasty retro vibe. In keeping with the Afrobeat tradition of protest, several songs on Peralta House relate to the recent troubles that have been facing the nation over the past few years.
