I've heard these shows online, and they sound great. I'm not under 20 or over 50, and I've been to 87 Grateful Dead shows. This isn't The Grateful Dead, it's The Dead, so enough said right there. They're out playing the songs we all love, and give Warren his props, the guy is ripping it up and I'm sure the bearded angel abouve is smiling down upon them. I can't wait to hear the music, see people enjoying themselves and dancing to the greatest songlist in music history. "If you get confused, listen to the music play." Oh yea, we ALL miss Jerry.

Good show last nite. Kind of an obscure setlist (at least some songs were to me) but still very solid. 1st set ended a little slow but they got beautifully dark and spacey 2nd set. Highlights were Big Boss Man 1st set, and St Stephen, Half-step and the jam after first Playin. Lot scene was a beautiful thing to see as lot I've scene in probably 10 yrs. And glad to see JPJ took the hands-off approach inside too.

What happened to Mississippi half-step? Quite butchered last night to say the least, it was weird to hear so many parts of the song repeated over and over, let's clean it up a little boys. The tempo was realllllllly slow during set 1, putting everyone to sleep. I am unsure of how many more shows I can attend like this. I am a huge Dead fan and can appriciate all tempos of their songs, but we desperately need more energy! Way to go on GLORIA (high energy)! Doin that rag was very nice to hear and well played!Crazy fingers was amazing- lovin the Dead reggae riddims. I love going to Dead shows and love the atmosphere, but please turn up the energy so I dont fall asleep during the show!!!

oh yea, JPJ was verrrry friendly inside. I like to smoke in peace. and it was beautiful! very trippy and spacey second set, pretty short space after drums. I woulda loved to check out the lot, but traffic from the exit from 64 to the "non existent cash parking lot", (had to park in a UVA parking deck) took 1.5 hours (too long).

all those with negative comments shouldn't even be on this website. this all wouldn't exist if it wasn't for The Grateful Dead. i do realize this was a Phish website, but they learned from the best. These are some of the best songs ever played in musical history. if you want to listen to some real crap, go listen to the Disco Biscuits or something.

If ya hate to say it, then why did you? Maybe the haters are the ones that need to let it go. I was there for Greensboro, fawkin' amazing time for me. Took 2 people with me that have never been to see the boys play, both were overly happy. Been seeing them play since Brent was with them and I'm insanely happy they're doing it again.

Guys, if you're listening, I'm hopin' and prayin' for a Lost Sailor/ St. of Circumstance at the Buffalo show. I'll be down in front. Look for the guy that's just losin' it if you whip that set out.

Right on. Not trying to be negative with my review. Just hoping for more energy, that's all. The very slow tempo of the tunes is just odd. I am not sure why they do it, I just guess that slowing it down leaves slightly less room for mistakes, I dunno. But the slowness of Mississippi half-step caused a malfuntion amongst the fellas (mississippi halfstep up town, up town half-step mississippi half- uptown, half-step toodeloo) you get the drift, it sounded confusing as hell live.

On the flip side Doin that rag and Crazy fingers were outta control.

It's just certain songs that I hope the boys listen to from the sbd's and figure out that they should be played in their origonal form.

Standing on the moon was beautiful. And a great 1st set closer!!

Somewhere in San Francisco

On a back porch in July

Just looking up to heaven

At this crescent in the sky

That made me really reminice on a recent San Francisco trip I just made from Virginia. My buddy there has a back porch on Fulton Street that had a great view of the moon. Ahh I wanna go back soon!!

Hey marleyman,

Try They have the C-ville show for streaming or download. I was there and it was a blast. I have to agree w/ Putnameter, though. The first set was pretty mellow and they totally dropped the ball on Mississippi Half step. I thought SOTM lacked soul, but maybe that's just b/c no one can do it like Jerry. Still it was an awesome time. Can't wait for the Philly and Jersey shows. GBTGD! :D

^ @ putnameter....sounded to me like they were doing half-step the same style ratdog does least I've heard Ratdog do it about 3X and they always do that stagger sort of thing during the chorus...always screws my head up hearing it too, but I've actually grown to like it

Chattering click clicks of the wireless mic set up, sound failure? Are these guys really plugged in.

Speedway Meadows april 07 there may have been issues with the wireless mics, the same at Berkeley community theater, and at the Greek- sound failure, wireless issues, like at that moment the whole of the entirety of existence was dependent on You Mr. sound engineer.(4/07, from in front of the stage it seemed as if Bobby had no volume and was electric acoustic for some part of it)
