M. Ward Announces Additional Tour Dates; "Rave On" Video

Acclaimed singer-songwriter M. Ward has been enjoying a career best in 2009. His newest and much praised release, Hold Time (Merge Records, February 17 - check it below), entered the Billboard charts at an impressive #31. This year saw sold-out performances across the country, including stops to the stages of esteemed late night talk shows of David Letterman and Craig Ferguson. Ward and his ├╝ber-talented troupe of musicians will perform additional North American tour dates and announces a new animated video for current single "Rave On," his stunning take on the Buddy Holly classic. After watching that video, I realize that I miss the music videos of the 1980's and early 1990's that were a form of creativity and interpretation. Remember Peter Gabriel's "Sledgehammer"? Great video.

To all of those who are confused, I mean no disrespect. There was a time when the "M" in "MTV" meant music. That was before all of the crappy reality shows that dominate the "MTV" lineup. One could come home from school, turn on the TV, and listen to/watch music videos 24 hours a day. Good times. I have no idea what the programming on "MTV" is today and, probably, I am not interested.
