Molitz, Clark & More: Sat Night Special in LA

'Saturday Night Special' :: Superjam at the Hollywood House of Blues

Steve Molitz
After the sudden cancellation of the The Disco Biscuits shows scheduled for this weekend at the Sunset Strip House of Blues, the theater and Wagataiil Productions wanted to put an event together that would still offer the SoCal music fans a chance to put on their dancin' shoes and celebrate their passion for live music. HOB contacted local keyboardist Steve Molitz (Particle, Phil Lesh & Friends), and long-time LA musician/promoter Ben Baruch (Underground Orchestra, Wagatail Productions), and in an effort to keep the music rollin', they assembled the 'Saturday Night Special' band on just one day's notice.

The band is expected to play a combination of original material (drawing from Particle, Tea Leaf Green, etc.), a diverse collection of covers, and plenty of improvised, high-energy dance music. Tickets to this one-time event are only $10, and can be purchased at the House of Blues box office day of show, or online here.

Steve Molitz (Phil Lesh & Friends, Particle) - keyboards
Josh Clark (Tea Leaf Green) - guitar
Tony Franklin (Jimmy Page, David Gilmour) - bass
Tony Austin (Erykah Badu, Santana) - drums
Ben Baruch (Underground Orchestra) - percussion
Jason Fladager (The Big Wu) - guitar
Adam Iscove (Allrise, Particle w/ Robby Krieger) - vocals
and special guests TBA!

PLUS, an opening set from LA jazz/groove/funkmasters, Big Organ Trio.

The Saturday Night Special band members and The House of Blues send their love to The Disco Biscuits band, family, and fans, and we look forward to the band's West Coast return.
