Mark Kozelek: Live Album

Mark Kozelek to Release New Live Album
Mark Kozelek: Lost Verses - Live – Release Date May 12 – Pre-Order April 1
Digital album available May 1

Mark Kozelek
Live performances by Mark Kozelek are usually hushed affairs. Concert halls can seem like tiny cafes as audiences give their full attention to the stage and strain to catch Kozelek's every inflection. Mark's previous two live albums, White Christmas – Live (2001 Subpop), recorded in Scandinavia, and Little Drummer Boy – Live (2006 Caldo Verde), a limited edition double live album, both captured this atmosphere perfectly. On May 12, 2009 Caldo Verde Records will release Lost Verses - Live, a single, 74 minute disc bookend to these albums.

Recorded live during Kozelek's 2007 and 2008 acoustic tours with Sun Kil Moon/Red House Painters guitarist Phil Carney as accompaniment, this 14 song set features songs primarily chosen from the Sun Kil Moon catalog but also includes solo and Red House Painter's material. The album was recorded in intimate, seated settings such as The First Unitarian Church in Philadelphia, the Williamsburg Music Center in Brooklyn, The Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco and the Aladdin Theater in Portland, finding Mark at his best, relaxed and interacting with the appreciative audience.

Captain Sammy

This man is absolutely AMAZING!!! Do yourself a favor JamBasers and get turned on. He is a DO NOT MISS if he comes through your town.

And for comic relief you can see him on the big screen as the nerdy bass player for Stillwater.

Yes yes yes!! Kozelek is the man... very under-appreciated.

Sun Kil Moon is amazing as well as Red House Painters... solo stuff is also killer.

Had but was unable to use my tickets to see him at the Bowery ballroom NYC ......I couldn't be more dissapointed there aren't really any more scheduled performances. Keeping my fingers crossed for another opportunity.
