U2: 360° World Tour

U2 - 360° TOUR

U2.com confirms that the U2 360° tour will open at the Nou Camp Stadium in Barcelona on June 30. The U2 360° Tour is the band’s first stadium outing since the Vertigo Tour 05/06, and follows the release of their acclaimed album, No Line On The Horizon (read our review here). Their 12th studio album, No Line On The Horizon is already number 1 in the U.K., Ireland, France, Germany, Belgium, Finland, Japan and the Czech Republic with further chart positions to be announced this week.

U2 360° will visit 14 cities across Europe including dates in Milan, Gothenburg, Amsterdam, Paris, Nice, Dublin, Chorzow, Berlin, Gelsenkirchen, London, Sheffield and Glasgow before finishing at Millennium Stadium in Cardiff on August 22. The European tour will be followed by dates in North America beginning at Chicago’s Soldier Field on September 12, 2009.

Long-time U2 Show Director Willie Williams has worked again with architect Mark Fisher (ZooTV, PopMart, Elevation and Vertigo), to create an innovative 360 degree; design which affords an unobstructed view for the audience. U2 360° also marks the first time a band has toured in stadiums with such a unique and original structure.

"U2 has always been at their best when surrounded by their audience, this staging takes a giant leap forward. With 85 percent of the tickets priced at less than $95.00, general admission floor tickets priced at $55.00 and at least 10,000 tickets at every venue priced at the $30.00 price range, we have worked very hard to ensure that U2 fans can purchase a great priced ticket with a guaranteed great view," says U2's manager Paul McGuinness.

In keeping with their long-standing tradition, U2 will welcome a number of different support acts to the tour including Glasvegas, Elbow, Kaiser Chiefs, Snow Patrol and Black Eyed Peas, with additional artists to be announced.

U2 Tour Dates available here.

In September and October, U2 360 will also visit: Atlanta, GA; Charlottesville, VA; Dallas, TX; Houston, TX; Las Vegas, NV; Los Angeles, CA; Norman, OK; Phoenix, AZ; Tampa, FL; Washington, DC and Vancouver, BC. Complete Tour and ticketing information to follow.

U2 Sucks

Are there stadiums large enough for Bono's head? Or will they play open air arenas and lower him in by helicopter?

As much as I dislike U2, I am glad they are selling tickets at $30-55. I wish some other bands would of done that as well.

Say what you want, but U2 is a Mega Band in my book. And at this late in their career, they could charge anything they want and still sell out every show. Offering tickets at this price shows they're a class act.

And their humanitarian work? How many bands even try to do that, much less have as large of an impact as they do?

Would I travel to see them? Probably not. But I'd pay $30 to see them in my town for sure!

Let me start by saying that I do NOT like U2. Cant stand them. But I heard on a radio station in Boston the other day that they are playing a Boston clun show...like the Paradise or something like that. I think that would be pretty awesome and would be interested if the tickets werent going to be outrageous.

i got free tickets to that U23D movie they did a year or so back... it was the worst thing i've ever seen in my life, there is one part when bono is blindfolded singing to a little bowl of burning ashes.. the whole movie was truly garbage. i would of left halfway threw, but my friend was already sleeping and we were in the dead middle of an imax row of chairs and would have needed like 20 people to move outta the way...

Bono must be a huge d-bag. otherwise U2's humanitarian work would make him like the coolest dude since james dean. i love what he does for people, but god, what a giant peice of crap he is. oh, their music sucks too

U2 is a great f'n band, have great f'n songs. I personally only own rattle and hum and a buffet of singles, but not a huge fan of the band. Just because Bono is a douche bag and edge and the band dress like metro sexuals doesn't mean the band sucks. They're a damn POP ROCK arena band.. some people act like they want the damn biscuits or sts9 to open for them or some shit. what a joke!!

cphil150 is right just becasue a band has made it huge doesn't mean they suck. But for U2 it's their music that makes them suck, not the fact they are huge. Phish is huge and they don't suck.

did anyone here see the Joshua Tree Tour in 1986?

after 50 Dead shows and 126 Phish (Iron Maiden and Ween included), this show will always remain a top 20 show for me. just becuase you don't like them doesn't mean that they are not talented. And who can discount all the good that Bono does giving to charities?

Yeah ... Because as we all know, the really TERRIBLE bands last 30 years, release amazing albums that sell in the millions and sell out arenas the world over tour after tour .... Yep .... U2 must totally suck ....

What a bunch of fucking cunts. One of the greatest rock bands of all time, and a bunch of pissants need to feel good about themselves badmouthing them on Jambase.

You guys are just to cool.

Let's see...U2's first album came out in 1980...pretty damn good album...I'll bet it was a big influence on a band that was becoming popular in 1986...I believe they were called...Phish? It can't be denied that U2 has been an influence to a lot of current bands. Rock On.

TO ALL THE HATERS: Guess what? You suck! Your hateful words suck! Your bad attitudes sucks! Your myopic taste in music sucks! (And by myopic, I mean everything that isn't "mainstream" b/c that's what it's all about, right? Fighting the mainstream? That's your mantra, right?) You guys are so blinded by your own hypocrisy that you can't even respect a band just for what they are and what they've accomplished, even if you don't like their style b/c they don't make your face melt until 6 a.m.

And another thing HATERS: You use the term "suck" too loosely. Like, what do you mean by suck? They suck like Brittany Spears? Parts of a record suck? The lyrics suck? A particular guitar line sucks? Too bad you guys have such short vocabularies and can only say "they suck" or "phish" instead of having intelligent conversation.

And this isn't all in defense of U2. I'm just tired of this shit! I don't care if you like them or not. But at least be intelligent enough to speak like a music critic and tell me why, other than offering just a childish "they suck."

And did someone say Bono should die? That's pathetic, and you should be ashamed of yourself!
