FUNKY BEAT BUBBLEGUM WITH FREAKY LIL’ VIDEO

Architecture in Helsinki will release the high energy single “That Beep” on February 17 on Polyvinyl Records. The track, currently only accessible across digital platforms, will be available in a physical format on CD and 12″ inch. It features 4 remixes of the band’s new song, including two versions by the ghettopop production duo Radioclit, one of which features Marina Ribatski, formerly of Bonde do Role. Here’s the new video:

Architecture in Helsinki lead songwriter and co-vocalist Cameron Bird says of the track, “‘That Beep’ happened whilst jamming beat ideas on an MPC on a cold July night. I had a feeling about the bass line so I took it home on my personal stereo. The melody became increasingly clear to me as I rode down Ruckers Hill, (the steepest hill in my neighborhood) one night. As I reached top speed, this new idea blaring in my ears, I had a moment of synchronicity during which a cavalcade of melodies and words and crescendos came flooding in through my ears… I had imagined my first ever psychophysical song! So, we spent the next month making it, in car parks, above Thai restaurants and in solar-powered houses. It was the first song we made in 18 months, and whilst it may have arrived in a bolt of blue and yellow, it feels like home.”

The band is currently in the midst of Summer festival season in Australia, traveling across the country with the Laneway Festival.
