William Elliott Whitmore

William Elliott Whitmore Headlines Tour in Support of ANIMALS IN THE DARK

William Elliott Whitmore
On the heels of a nearly sold-out North American tour with City and Colour, William Elliott Whitmore is taking to the stage again on a headlining US tour starting just a few days prior to the February 17 release of his Anti- Records debut Animals in the Dark.

A 30 year-old Iowan with the voice of a road-hardened troubadour, Will Whitmore's unaffected and stirring approach to American music has cut a wide swath of excitement, with articles ranging from inclusion in the "People Are Talking About" list in Vogue to a feature in venerable skate mag Thrasher. Andy Downing at the Chicago Tribune wrote a lengthy piece on the new pastoral music that heavily featured Will alongside Bon Iver and Fleet Foxes. Early reviews for Animals in the Dark have been unabashedly enthusiastic:

"Guitar and banjo never sounded so sweet in the darkness." - Blurt

(4 ½ out of 5 stars) "Repeated listens yield rich and profound rewards." - Alternative Press

"There's a time-honored truthfulness to William Elliott Whitmore that can't be rehearsed and most certainly can't be faked." - The Absolute Sound

"His guitar strings droned as if stained by the gunk from a backwoods living: dull and flat, the perfect backing for words meant to ignite a ballroom brawl. His words' timelessness managed to turn even Los Angeles' famously "stationary standing" crowd into a more fashionable barnyard romp of hoots and hollers." - Filter (live review)

Seen him live a couple times, and been lovin his music and voice for years. He is a true talent. Any guy playing his style of music that has the balls to open for bands like Clutch is ace by me. Can't wait to see him at 10klf at 2PM on the Barn Stage....assuming that's where he'll play there.
