mad props to GlassWorks for again straying immediately off-topic and thus showing his discomfort for any music that doesn't 'jam.'

and by mad props i mean thumbs down. we can all clearly see how obsessed you are with phish by your cute little 'phish hampton' avatar, but maybe you could just *not post anything* if you have nothing insightful/useful to say?

yea honestly GlassWorks. you continue to contribute nothing but your inane Phish-related comments to boards that in absolutely no way shed any light on them whatsoever, but I'm sure you're aware of that and do it regardless just as some poor attempt at a gimmick to rile people up and ruffle feathers. We've all seen it on board after board and most, including myself, choose to not even waste time addressing it, but I happened to realize you posted within minutes of this Mouse tour being put up, which shows you clearly have nothing going on in your life but to make poor and entirely unfunny comments on jambase boards. please stop.

Even though they blew up, it's cool to see them playing some more intimate joints. Sore cochleas the day after, or at least ringing.

Wow I mean I know Glassworks was way off base, but did you have to take him to the wood shed like that? And by doing so didn't you as well coment on something so off the subject, as I am doing now! So in closely I would love to see the Atlanta show if at all possible($$$) Does anyone have any insight on them? I like their albums but are their shows good? is it a kiddie fest? Etc.?

Same tired setlist every night - this is more theater than concert - which is all fine and good - I like the theater

got real excited as i saw this headline, then i looked at the tour dates and cursed something awful. love me some modest mouse. stop by buffalo sometime soon. i was very upset to find that brock butler joined the broken social scene november 28 in toronto when i was in knoxville with family, god damn family tearing me away from brilliant shows. Paper thin walls is my fav mouse song ever.

I really like modest mouse. I have all of their albums. Being from a small east coast town, I was bummed that I never got a chance to see them live. I moved to Vancouver, CA and finally got to see them. I was pretty psyched to go, but was really let down. They ripped through the first couple songs and seemed to be poised to put on a great show but then the wheels came off. The crowd was subjected to about another hour and a half of heavy feedback and forgotten songs that they could barely fumble through. It appeared as if they were fighting on stage too. When the concert ended Brock apologized to the crowd but you could feel a complete absence of energy in the place and the boos began to cascade. May have been an off night, but the concert was pretty expensive ($45) to be so off. Hands down the worst concert I've ever been to. It breaks my heart to say this, but I gotta call a spade a spade..and you my brothers and sisters in music deserve the D.L.

vandal, that sounds completely reasonable. i just wish all the haters on this site could present their ideas like you. see haters, it IS okay to dislike something as long as you're not a jackass about it.

^ Seconded. Also, the lack of northeast shows is suprising. I've been trying to see these guys for years, (B.B. King too) maybe Atlanta will be it.

Not mentioned is that this will be without Johnny Marr. I thought he was a great addition to the band.

Modest Mouse set at Rothbury was amazing. Everyone should go see them live.

Can't wait to see these guys again. Last time was amazing, they played with the Shins, and both band were insanely awesome, love these guys!

crazylegged, your statement regarding Good News for People Who Like Bad News proves why you dislike them.. that is hands down the worst album they've produced. if you've sat down and truly listened to their earlier works, (i'm not even going to list the ones to check out, because pretty much every one of them is good *or spectacular* in their own ways, and they all have long names) and actually disliked them, you really should just quit on music now, cuz i think there ain't no hope for ya!

good luck!

I dig the modest mouse. Took me a while to get used to them. But- if you want to actually hear what Isac is saying in his songs, get the disc by The Iron Horse "Pick'n on Modest Mouse" Good bluegrass tribute. Good shit. Curious to see what the fox theater in oakland is going to be like.

I'll be honest here. I love the Mouse, one of my favorites, but the shows

are a little bit of a kiddie fest. The band tears it up, but the crowd

seems a little lame...and I don't mean the kinds of people...I mean it's

like they are lame horses, not a lot going on there. I will be there at

Stubbs. It seems that they always just start to really get into some good

jams, and then the show is over. They do bring the weirdness, don't fool

yourself, they have a pretty unique vibe.

I know they picked up a show at 9:30 club in D.C. so I assume they'll be picking up more as venues pick them up. I really suggest seeing these guys live, they were amazing at Rothbury and could only be better at a show that is revolving around them. They really give off a crazy energy when they play.
