Gongzilla January Tour

GZ's FIRST TOUR OF 2009!

Gongzilla
Gongzilla is fired up for their January run, which will take them from Georgia to Connecticut. The big news is the addition of drummer Curtis Wingfield (The Afromotive, Bellyfull, The New Familiars) who officially joins GZ for this tour supporting the new studio record, Five Even (see JamBase's rave review here), which features great guest guitarists Chuck Garvey (moe.), Jake Cinninger (Umphrey's McGee) and David "Fuze" Fiuczynski (Screaming Headless Torsos) with bassist Kai Eckhardt (Garaj Mahal) sitting-in, too.

Here’s what Jake Cinninger has to say about Five Even:

"These guys are the real thing. Not only are they some of the most fluid instrumentalists, great songs seem to dominate over being flashy and solo heavy. Sonically this new recording sounds microscopic and in your freakin' face. GZ is like a progressive version of Dire Straits, ill wordplay and adventurous arrangements. These cats came all the way to Chicago, toting all their recording gear with them, just to capture a few riffs from me. Needless to say they mean holy biz!"
