Radiohead Expanded Reissues

CAPITOL/EMI TO RELEASE EXPANDED 'COLLECTORS EDITIONS'
OF RADIOHEAD'S FIRST THREE ALBUMS ON MARCH 24
Live Recordings, TV Performances and Other Rarities Added to Original Albums

Radiohead
On March 24, Radiohead's first three studio albums, Pablo Honey (1993), The Bends (1995) and OK Computer (1997) will be released by Capitol/EMI in expanded "Collectors Edition" and limited edition "Special Collectors Edition" packages. Each "Collectors Edition" includes the original album plus a second CD of rarities, including demos, sessions and live recordings. Each "Special Collectors Edition," in deluxe, lift-top box packaging, includes both audio discs and adds a DVD with a variety of promotional music videos, TV performances and filmed concert performances, as well as a series of postcards.

Pablo Honey's "Collectors Edition" features the original album on disc one, and demos, rarities, live performance recordings and a 1992 BBC Radio One session on disc two. The "Special Collectors Edition" DVD adds four promotional music videos, the band's 1993 debut "Top Of The Pops" performance, and nine live recordings from their May 1994 London Astoria concert.

The Bends' "Collectors Edition" features the original album on disc one, and EPs with rarities and a 1994 BBC Radio session on disc two. The "Special Collectors Edition" DVD adds five promotional music videos, 1995 and '96 TV performances from "Top Of The Pops," "Later with Jools Holland" and "2 Meter Session," and eight filmed performances from their May 1994 London Astoria concert.

OK Computer's "Collectors Edition" feature the original album on disc one, and EPs with rarities and live recordings and a 1997 BBC Radio One "Evening Session" performance on disc 2. The "Special Collectors Edition" DVD adds three promotional music videos and a May 1997 TV performance from "Later with Jools Holland."

On April 21, Capitol/EMI will reissue 12 Radiohead EPs on 180-gram vinyl as part of the popular "From The Capitol Vaults" high-quality vinyl series.

***I guess the band won't be releasing these free like "In Rainbows," still looks awesome!***

In reality, the band isn't releasing shit - it's Capitol/EMI cashing in. At least there's some worth to this, unlike the other craptastic sets and best ofs they've been peddling since the band left.

In rainbows wasn't free. It was honor system. And you are fucking lame if you didn't at least pay something.

RambleOnShelbyRose^^ So I guess they're not allowed to make money then. Nothing against you in particular but I'm so tired of the hippie mantra that's it's bad to make money off of something. I've bought exactly 0 Radiohead albums in my life I downloaded all of them on torrent files and they're my FAVORITE BAND. Now that they released something really cool like this I might buy it. It's called capitalism. Anyone who thinks Radiohead is greedy for doing this should pay for 6 months of studio time and release the album for free.

Brooklynite84, you must remember though, In Rainbows was released after their record label signing was finished...

'3 People I would Have Loved To Have Seen Play Together':

Chuck Garvey (Lead Guitar), Thom Yorke(Vocals), Joe Strummer(Vocals, rhythm guitar).

Success or failed experiment?

Who would you choose to round out the band?

Why?

What three would you choose?

I wish Capitol would stop doing this. They have been since Radiohead split from them. This is why we get repackaged crap like "the best of radiohead" last year to capitalize on the success of In Rainbows.

I've already owned this stuff for several years. just go to btjunkie.com or mininova.com and steal your little heart away. That's what the cool kids do. I wouldn't spend another dime on "Collector's Editions" when people are willing to share their collections on-line.

Fuck Capitol. Fuck EMI. This is a fucking travesty. Guess that's the nature of the music biz though--these whores can do whatever they want. :(

I don't feel bad about downloading "In Rainbows" (mp3 format I might add)for free considering i spent $85 seeing them live this summer, which was worth every penny. I have all these b-sides already but if you don't, you should get them...amazing tracks from an amazing band.

Any Radiohead special edition cd's before were always amazing, nicely mastered, sick artwork, and some cool little bonuses. But now that they don't have creative freedom to pick what they want in the sets. I'll pass, sorry Capital Records I'm not going to accept your lame pass off of a Radiohead Box.

that's a whole lot of goodness right there, quality... i've heard a bunch of that stuff, and it will be well worth your dollars if you feel like paying for it.
