WSP Tunes for Tots

Tabernacle, Atlanta GA October 19

Widespread Panic
Over the past three years, Tunes for Tots has raised over $375,000 for Georgia Public School music programs. With the proceeds from 2007's event, Rothschild Middle School not only received instruments for their orchestra but also a 27 station music computer lab with the latest version of Music Maker Finale on them. Musical instrument equipment is very expensive and many more schools are under-funded and in need, so we invite you to join Widespread Panic for their 2008 Tunes for Tots charity concert!

This year's event is taking place at the newly renovated Tabernacle in Atlanta, GA on October 19. Only 100 VIP tickets will be sold for The Private VIP Cocktail Party with Widespread Panic and includes: Heavy hors d'oeuvres catered by the renowned chef Hugh Acheson from Athens' 5 & 10 restaurant, an open premium bar, early admittance into the venue and a 2008 Tunes for Tots poster autographed by the band. The cocktail party will take place from 5 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.

For the concert only, General Admission tickets will be available with doors at 7 p.m. with Showtime at 8 p.m.

Tickets go on sale September 20 through - online only.

Widespread Panic believes that art education, and in particular music education, is integral to the overall education and advancement of children. Art allows for personal expression, appreciation of ideas, celebration of cultural awareness, sharing emotions, and gives purpose to life. Widespread Panic agrees with research findings that art education supports more traditional academic subjects as well as being a worthy pursuit in its own right.

Widespread Panic's next show is October 10 in Austin. Complete tour dates available here.

Very cool indeed. Art education is some of the best knowledge you could ever recieve, always good to see creation at work in schools rather than bullshit consumption. Of course we all know music is the finest of arts and its awesome to see a band like widespread panic doing this. i would love to attend this cocktail party, how fucking cool is that. MAKE ART

This is pretty cool. I also think it would be cool if Widespread had a tractor race to raise money for Farm Equipment victims. Every year a lot of people get injured by heavy farm equipment - and yet this epidemic is hardly ever talked about. Let's show some tractor love boys.

I know this has nothing to do with the article, but I thought people may want to know that Richard Wright passed away today from Cancer. He has gone to play that Great Gig In The Sky.

If you look at the statistics for America's most deadly/dangerous jobs, farming is always in the top 5. Such a shame that one of America's most important and most underpaid jobs is the most dangerous and few even realize it.

They might be playing the Tabernacle because the Roxy sucks and you got thrown out...or they might be playing the Tabernacale because the Roxy isn't there anymore. The Tabernacle IS a really cool venue, though.

the riverside theater is close to water street which has a lot of bars and is a hotspot for nightlife. if you like wings check out points east, it's a really chill place not far from downtown and has the best wings in the city. the harley davidson museum just opened and the art museum is pretty cool too. brady street and the historic third ward are areas with some cool specialty shops and restaurants. check out and you can get a lot more info. hope that helped you a little bit and have a good time!

I thought they would have played this show in Colorado too. In the spirit of NEW YEARS IN DENVER. They should really take residency in CO instead of the GA. The west loves WSP alot more than the south. See you on Dec 30 and 31st
