Neil Young Fall Tour

Neil Young
Neil Young will embark on a North American tour commencing October 14 in St Paul, Minnesota continuing for eight weeks, culminating at New York's Madison Square Garden on December 15. The new tour comes on the heels of Young's hugely successful 2008 European Tour that brought him before audiences in 14 countries over the course of three months.

This fall's tour includes concert performances in such U.S. markets as Los Angeles, San Diego, Chicago, Detroit, and Philadelphia. Additionally there will be multiple stops in Young's native Canada including Vancouver, Calgary, Regina, Winnipeg, Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal and Halifax.

The concerts will feature Neil Young with the same band that so ably backed him in Europe - Ben Keith, Rick Rosas, Chad Cromwell, Anthony Crawford and Pegi Young. Song sets are expected to be eclectic, featuring both newer material and classic Neil Young hits. Death Cab For Cutie and Everest will support dates from October 14 through November 5; Wilco and Everest are on the bill for dates starting November 29 through the tour's conclusion with the exception of the December 9 Chicago date which will feature (TBD) and Everest in support.

All shows this tour will be GA floor with reserved seating in the stands. GA Tickets will be prices at $75.00 with reserved stand tickets ranging in price from $45.00 to $250.00 (plus all applicable service charges).

Mr. Young AND Wilco at the Palace!!! This would not even be on my radar if it weren't for $75 GA FLOOR! Expensive, but worth every penny. After seeing CSN&Y there years back, paying out my a**, and sitting in the balcony, this will be AWESOME.

Nevermind Bonnaroo's comments, funny how most of his comments are hidden within 20 minutes of the story being posted. Neil Young Rocks. plenty of time 10/24-25 for bridge school. plus plenty of time in November for a few nites in SF?? My question is, since all of these shows appear to be arena shows, and I pay $75 for a floor GA ticket, are there gonna be $250 dollar seats between me and the stage? Or are they gonna stick those people side stage?

Spreading the love. Sorry to the south but I'd love to visit every city on the tour. Especially during the fall time with a little winter added. Beautiful.

Wilco won't play the Chicago dates??? Probably don't want to show up Neil :)

$250 is steep, but WITH Death Cab/Wilco and Everest? It is cool to see Neil giving them a spot.

eskay231 - If you had ever been to a Wilco show, you would know that their audience ranges from teens to seniors. So, you may want to learn a bit more before you go talking shit.

I know many 30/40 somethings who have seen the Dead, Phish/Panic in their prime. They would all use 5 cent thesaurus words like "bombastic" to describe a live Wilco show.

And the addition of "IMHO" would be redundant - wouldn't it? I mean, since this is a form for stating opinions.

But a member for a full 2'll catch on.

Once again, you new batch of scene wannanbes (with some old idiots thrown in) can't resist the bash comment. Oh, boo-fuckin-hoo, Neil is playing with a band he obviously thinks is awesome (at this point in his career, and probably forever, he's able to pick who he goes on tour with) and YOU don't care for that band. Wow, stop the presses. some kid is unhappy with the opening band. seriously , I come home at night with my heart all atwitterjust waiting to see the jambase storys and read all the negative comments from the likes of kdiddybaby, bonnarootorothbury and dreadyknowsbest. Obviously these (so-called) kids either have no lives or work for jambase because they are almost always in the first five comments. Really bobo-heads, make some friends yo. Stirring up animosity on the jambase story section is gettin' real old. Your like the assholes that end shootin' people at the mall. You need to go out and actually relate to honest to goodnes REAL folks. Throwing out negative comments on these sites just to get a reaction is pathetic (bonnaroo you know who you are). peace, and by the way...I'm 48 years old, have been to many shows by both The Grateful Dead AND Phish and have been going to festies since the good-ole-days of Wilmer's Park in Maryland...and I think Death Cab For Cutie are great, be sure to go in early enough to catch them if you are lucky enough to be in an area where they are opening! Long Live Neil the GREAT!

Hey futhepharmer, yeah Wilmer's Park brings back good memories of the 1st three All Goods (except for the Deep Banana Blackout near-catastrophe). I'm a huge Neil fan but the prices are just getting ridiculous. Greendale tour just 5 years ago was $30 at Merriweather with Lucinda Williams opening. $75 GA-WTF? It's getting to the point where us family-supporting working adults can barely afford to join all the trust-fund brats and molly-dealing bluntsnbiscos of the world at shows. Think I'll stick to smaller shows and leave the classic rock for the newbies.

Neil Young at Bonnaroo a few years back is one of my most favorite shows I have ever seen. 30 minute Down by the River encore was absolutely amazing.

Too bad he isn't coming to the south cause I would pay whatever to see this guy again.

And to "him" who said above...

"A southern man don't need him around" L.S.

I'll take Neil over Skynyrd any day of my life. Neil is still playing and touring with a legitimate band...Skynyrd on the other hand, plays bunk festivals and dates all over the south and I'm not even sure if any of the original members are on the bill. I'm sure they are...but I have seen them and they are in no way even close to the real Skynyrd from back in the day.

Neil Young > Lynyrd Skynyrd

Yo, gregboyer, you got that straight! When the light rig blew over in that wind storm and almost crushed Deep Banana's drummer and the only thing that saved him were some crates stacked up behind him, it was crazy. The acoustic moe. set later in the evening (they couldn't get the P.A. working) was awesome. you had to stand real close to hear them singing!

Anyways, I feel ya on the ticket prices. But when you get old and just can't play as many shows as you used to, you have to still make a profit to justify the tour. Less dates mean higher ticket prices to sustain the tour. It sucks, but know this, Neil will play a long show and always gives you your money worth. always gotta wonder at this point...will this be the last time I get to see him? Peace, bro

eskay youre right that was my very humble opinion, although i can guarantee thats the humble opinion of anyone who has seen WILCO live, i was merely expressing the fact that i have held a grate appreciation for this band for some time and now they tour with a living legend who can still play and write brilliant music. Im still warm and fuzzy about this tour being that toronto is roughly an hour away from buffalo. eskay im sure youre an alrite guy, people have to stop being "the judge" around here, whose to judge someone period, let alone through a username and comment. This is a celebration bitches!
