I guess they just transferred Vegoose to San Francisco. 1:55 set from Radiohead? All festivals should have camping and late nights. I agree.

This is gonna be rad! But Jack Johnson getting the longest set, give me a break! oh well guess it is still a great lineup!

This was said in an earlier article on this fest, but there is no way to do camping anywhere near this event. It is in the heart of the city for those unfamiliar with Golden Gate Park. On the positive, it is an absolutely beautiful location for a show and one with tons of history with all the Dead shows, etc dating back to the '60s.

check out jazzfest in New Orleans. No camping and it is probably the best festival in the US

It's just like ACL. The night time fun is downtown with after-shows and parties. There's definitely a time and place for both this and camping festies.

Tom Petty has a two hour slot. Steve Winwood - only one hour? Not enough time at all!

Great lineup but what's up with the overlap? Who the fuck makes these schedules? Jackie Greene and ALO at the same time? Black Keys and Beck overlapping? and Rodrigo y Gabriela and WSP the same time.

1 hr. 10 min. set for Primus??? A band that plays like 5 shows a year??? Come on, they deserve way more than that. I'm sick of fests that pack as many bands as possible into one day. Each band is getting like an hour at tops, and the headliners aren't even getting 2 hours. Glad I'm not going to this fest, that would get real frustrating.

Got to make the best of what you're given, but there is a lot of conflict heartbreak on this schedule (ALO/JackieG, these guys should be collaborating, jeez - and the others mentioned, Beck/TBK and RyG/WSP) and the sets are way too short (40 minutes for ALO and JackieG?.

On paper this is not worth such a high ticket cost, but we're going to make it worthwhile it by having the best possible time we can. We're stepping "Outside!"

If you are still looking for a hotel in San Fran check out Hotel Des Art. This place is awsome. I couldn't think of a better place to unwind after the festi. It is a bit pricy but well worth it. Here is the address to the web page. Check it out and you will see what I'm talking about.

Incuboo - Last time I checked this was a forum to express one's opinion. Apparently everything needs to be all praise in your eyes? I'm going to this show and I am also rather perturbed by all the overlaps. When you buy a festival ticket and have to see only one of your 2 fav bands it kind of makes you upset. Keep in mind that this is a forum - not a praise board. Not everyone will echo your sentiment. Now go listen to Incubus or some other lame band. Tool.

Overlapping was bound to happen. Kinda surprised ALO is playing so early. Can't make it down for Outside :-( But I do get Wilco and Beck in Bend the same weekend!

Damn... I knew this festival would give me a bunch of conflicts, especially on Sunday when WSP, Wilco and Mike Gordon all mesh together! Oh well, I guess I'm gonna be doing a lot of running around! Gonna be the heat, none the less!!!

OK.... so I was on the fence about going, but there seems to be a lot of :30, :45 and 1 hour sets. They seem a little short to me. Oh well..... a few hundred extra bucks in my pocket to enjoy during Hardly Strictly Bluegrass :P

By the way...I never said I only like 2 bands there. I said I am only getting to see "one of my 2 favorite bands" in a specific timeslot. Don't worry though bud...I'm not taking offense to you. Afterall your favorite bands include Switchfoot and Coldplay. Enough said ;)

I agree folkphan8 you would think that a band like Primus who started out in the area and is a rare act nowadays would get a longer set and be featured at the main stage. But whatever they're still going to be there and I have a feeling they're gonna bring it quite nicely. I'm hoping these times are just guidelines and the bands push their time so the festival doesn't end at 10pm

I have tickets to the show. I was planning on driving 200 miles to see Radiohead for the first time. I can't afford to buy hotel rooms in downtown San Francisco for 3 nights straight. I just put the tickets on ebay to try and get my money back so I can go to STS9 and Bassnectar in Berkeley for $40. I think the festival is reminiscent of Vegoose, because you have to be rich to go. It is not worth me driving to see a 1:55 set from Radiohead. They probably rather I don't drive because of the imprint anyway.

this is one of the best festivals to hit 08 but seriously they messed it up big time. SF is supposed to be the different city right? but radiohead ending at 10 what are they afraid of? and every other band lame. Primus playing sunset cmon guys really? i mean who cares about camping, stay with a hippie you meet at a show. very disappointed. and incuboo your a fucking waste of space. i hate you i dont know you but i hate you. hoodovoodoo i agree. fuck this fest. Bonnaroo, Rothbury, Lollapalooza. Thats what i hit up but i live in michigan so why not?

Was this customizable schedule really necessary? There's fewer than half the stages at Jazzfest, and there's tons more giant open blocks at the stages. And you'd think with so much empty time at the stages there wouldn't be so much overlap. But, as usual, Superfly sucks. No more Vegoose and their Jazzfest lineup continues to get smaller and more expensive. Just stick to counting your cash from Bonnarroo.

I too am bummed about some of the line up conflicts, wsp & Rod & gab (esp since this is wsp's only show on the west coast for awhile), jackie & alo, & the hips & toots. BUT what I'm most disappointed about is, where the hell is dumpstahphunk on Sunday?! They were a big draw for me-anybody know the scoop on this?

There need to be more late night shows in the city. Apart from that 12 Galaxies gig there really isin't anything else. I wish Panic was doing a late night show at the Fillmore, ALO even. And where is New Monsoon?

All of the schedule conflicts people are griping about are not seeming that crazy to me. Why is Panic and Rod and Gab such a life altering hard choice to make?! Panic seems obvious to me even though I like what Rod and Gab do. And I was a huge Phish fan, but Wilco in their prime is an easy choice to me over Gordo solo. Just my opinion of course. Seems like life has harder choices than these all the time...

Expensive as hell, but I'm flying in and spending a few days in Yellowstone then ducking in for it anyway. Jack Johnson closing after Panic, on a SUNDAY??!? Thats like blasphemy.

Get rid of half of the acts, let the bands that people are paying to see play longer. Why not get every band known to man, and have them each play for twelve minutes. Dumpstaphunk def was on the original line up as were DDBB. Two of the bands that excited me about this line-up are now not playing? WTF? Combine that with the glaring omission of anything GD related, and the fact that there is only one or two late nite offerings make this festival WEAK SAUCE. Hey Superfly, you should send a representative to Hardy Strictly Bluegrass, so they can show you that you dont need to rip people off to put on a good show.

Hopefully, Jellybones, you're going to Yosemite and not Yellowstone. My only REAL complaint with the schedule (expecting big conflicts) is WSP vs Wilco....I don't want to miss a minute of either. Oh well.

Well, seeing this schedule has decided it for me...I'm saving my $$ and staying home. For as much money as they are charging, and not being taper-friendly, the short set times, dropped bands, and schedule overlaps make it not worth it IMO.

I agree with the comments regarding too many bands, perios. I think many of the festivals are pushing the limit, even if they mean well (and if any fest means well, I would suppose that this is certainly one) and are doing their best to bring in a solid crowd. I personally would much rather see full, developed sets in which the artists unwind and showcase their best talent and breadth of material than to run around attempting to catch snippets of many acts. Sounds fun as hell at any rate, though. Visit the conservatory while you are at the park- super cool place to hang out.
