Surprise Mr. Davis Show in VT: 8/3

Burlington Saves the Day for Surprise Me Mr. Davis

Surprise Me Mr. Davis
The members of Surprise Me Mr. Davis had planned on convening in Montreal for a week of studio experiments, pointing towards their next long playing recording. But after one diverted flight, one missing suit case, many miles and ultimately getting refused at the border, they found themselves helpless in Burlington, Vermont. It wasn't long, however, until the good people of this northern state began chiming in, stepping up, and ideas were flying. The proverbial cookie crumbled in such a graceful design, and the four Mr. Davis disciples found themselves tracking their audio playthings at the home/barn studio of Burlington's beloved Brett Hughes.

The story is much longer and better than that, but the point is to let you know that Marc Friedman, Brad Barr and Nathan Moore will be putting on a show at Parima Thai (the listening room) on Sunday night, August 3 at 9 p.m.

If you live in the Boston area, the show at Great Scott is a must see. A great small venue/bar. A great band. Enough said.

Hopefully the adversity will crystalize some amazing music. These guys are really writing some of their best material these days... I only wish I could check out some of these shows. The West coast dates they just played were hot!!!! The Burlington date should be a super treat! Maybe Gordo will even show up again like he did with these guys in April.

What? No drums? Where's the other Barr brother? Favorite part about the Slip live is the drums, hands down! Should be a great show. Hope you guys make it back to AZ this year.

Andrew is certainly a young lion on the skins! Maybe he made it to Montreal and the others got turned back? He certainly will be performing at the other shows in Boston, Portland and NYC...
