Lesh Headlines Slow Food on 8/31

PHIL LESH AND FRIENDS TO HEADLINE SUNDAY, AUGUST 31
AT SLOW FOOD ROCKS MUSIC FESTIVAL IN SAN FRANCISCO
ADDITIONAL ARTISTS INCLUDE GNARLS BARKLEY, OZOMATLI, THE NEW PORNOGRAPHERS, MMW AND OTHERS

Phil Lesh
Festival Network is proud to announce that the legendary Phil Lesh & Friends will headline Sunday, August 31, at the Slow Food Rocks music festival, which will be held during Slow Food Nation, the largest celebration of American food in history, taking place in San Francisco over Labor Day Weekend. In a rare hometown appearance Phil Lesh and Friends will play on an outdoor stage at The Great Meadow at Fort Mason overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge, the second day of a two day music festival. Other artists include Grammy-winning Gnarls Barkley, who will headline the event on Saturday, August 30 with Ozomatli, New Pornographers, and Medeski Martin & Wood. Joining Phil Lesh and Friends on Sunday, August 31, are G. Love & Special Sauce and the John Butler Trio.

Throughout the years Phil Lesh & Friends have included several of the great names in rock music both past and present, and it takes a special event like Slow Food Rocks to bring them to this green, gorgeous spot by the Bay. Slow Food Nation will bring together tens of thousands to experience an extraordinary range of activities highlighting the connection between plate and planet. All food and beverage vendors for the music festival will be sourced through Slow Food Nation, representing the best in good, clean and fair prepared foods, meats, produce, micro-brews and wine. To highlight issues concerning urban and global water use, Slow Food Nation is partnering with Food & Water Watch and the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission to develop accessible and visible water stations. All water will be free of charge. As Slow Food Nation strives to be a plastic-free event, we encourage you to bring your own reusable water bottle. For more information about Slow Food Nation, please visit www.slowfoodnation.org.

Tickets for Slow Food Rocks are on sale now at www.slowfoodrocks.com or via phone at (877) 655-4TIX. Single-day and two-day passes will be available at the reserved and general admission levels. For a complete breakdown of ticket prices, please see below.

beatstock I'm right there with you. Phil's All Good show was incredible, my face is def back on that hill somewhere still. I hope Jam Base has a review of that festival soon, if not just for a review of that Phil show. Legendary.

Yeah the second set in particular at AllGood was just madness. I felt like I was at a cross between a 60's Acid Test and a early 90's rave during that Elevator, maybe the best Phil show I've ever seen.

When the hell are Phil and Bobby gonna tour again?? Maybe Phil and Mickey can agree to change the name back to 'The Other Ones' instead of "The Dead", the name that Weir hates.

Agreed, the 2 All Good sets were out of control. That Jackie Greene fella can really bring it.

Jackie Greene was impressive, I saw their show at Rothbury and loved it, way better than Weir and Ratdog. Although Jambase reviewed Phil pretty poorly for that show, but it was my first lesh show and I am excited to see my second at 10,000 lakes festival next week!!!
