Stream The Hold Steady’s Stay Positive Album Now On MySpace

The Hold Steady
This here Internet is a wild thing eh? Seems like everyone is gettin’ in on the fun, releasing albums with no notice, offering singles before they’re released, and in the case of Brooklyn’s The Hold Steady, they are offering their entire new album, Stay Positive for stream on their MySpace page.

Set for release on July 15 through Vagrant Records, the album was produced by John Agnello and recorded at Water Music in Hoboken, NJ and Wild Arctic Studios in Queens, NY, with mixing at the Magic Shop in Soho in Manhattan.

Bandleader Craig Finn defines Stay Positive as an album, musically and lyrically, about the attempt to age gracefully. Incorporating harpsichord, banjo and talk box, the band’s gift for literate, anthemic songwriting finds a new focus Finn calls “more musical… more dynamics, different instrumentation, more complex arrangements, and not always hiding behind raw volume.”

The Hold Steady are easily one of the best live acts around and they will be touring hard this summer, dates available here
