Umph & Bisco Food Drives

Conscious Alliance Food Drives for Umph & Bisco

Umphrey's McGee
Conscious Alliance will be operating food drives at several concerts at the Orange Peel in Asheville, North Carolina.

During Umphrey's McGee on Thursday, April 3, patrons that donate ten non-perishable food items or more will receive a limited edition poster created by Mark Brabant. On Sunday, April 20 Conscious Alliance will return to support The Disco Biscuits, with a limited edition poster designed by Rob Servo.

Mr. Alan Feinstein will match any food or monetary donations made to Conscious Alliance during this time. For the eleventh straight year, Alan Shawn Feinstein will divide $1 million among hunger fighting agencies nationwide using it to help them raise funds during March and April, 2008. Show your support by dipping into your cupboard or stopping by the grocery store on your way to these shows!

I'd really like to see the Disco haters try and hate on this one.

this is awesome good shit. i really dont see why people hate on these two bands. They are fun to be around and dance to. It took me a while to get into them i will admit that but now i see the promise that these bands have for the future of music.

As long as disco fans remember they can't donate E as a food...

On a more serious note food drives are never a bad thing. Way to go for both bands and whoever is putting it on.

shmo-kinn – Not trying to be a dick (it is hard for me not to do), but isn’t this pretty much the beginnings of what Brooklynn was talking about? Best to blow it off then push it further. As Lisa Simpson said to Bart, "What is the sound of one hand clapping?"

As for the topic at hand, glad to see some bands walking-the-walk. The next step it to move people into greater action in their own communities. Wilco donate all poster sales to charities in the communities they play, but money only goes so far. Sweat equity return greater dividends.

Good point on the E. Let me throw one out there. Instead of doing E (or any other drugs) at the show, you give all that cash to Conscious Alliance? How about it NC???

Nice Beard Shmoo-kin. Did you buy it from a good luck troll? Or did you just glue a bunch of pubes on your chin?
