The Frequency Tour Dates

The Frequency Announce North American Tour Dates

The Frequency
Los Angeles-based experimental rock band The Frequency will embark on an extensive North American tour in support of their recently completed full-length debut record, entitled We Are The Same Machine. The self-produced album will be available on 12" vinyl and CDs at shows with a proper national release to follow thereafter.

"We've rediscovered listening to music on vinyl over the past year and we really think it's a great way to hear the music in the way the artists intended it to be made," says keyboardist and co-founding member Marc Cazorla. "Albums were created with an emphasis on listening from start to finish, and that's what we were hoping to accomplish. If someone doesn't have a bunch of records or a turntable, we'd love for them to start their collection with us," adds co-founder, guitarist and vocalist Alex Stiff.

Based upon a love of Moogs, the sound of a real Fender Rhodes electric piano and vintage Fender amps, the collective sound is a reflection of things old and new. The Frequency cite Pink Floyd, Air, and Mogwai as just a few influential groups. Their self-titled EP was released last February through Ropeadope Digital and a new song called "Stars" appears in the final scene and credits of the major motion picture "The Eye" starring Jessica Alba.

The Frequency look forward to returning to many of the cities they first visited last year while supporting groups as diverse as Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and Lotus, in addition to introducing their huge sound to new venues and audiences. The Frequency will share the stage with an exciting group of bands including Greyboy Allstars, Scissors For Lefty and Future Rock before making a stop at the Wanee Festival in Florida. The group reunites with Lotus once again as support for their show at The Fillmore at Irving Plaza in New York City.

ok so i wish to partially retract my previous comment. the thought of cheese retiring fills me with such deep sadness that i cannot even joke about it. there is an emptiness in the pit of my soul, one that can only be filled by string cheese. now, dont get me wrong, the frequency are fuckin awesome, unlike most of the hackers that call themselves musicians but in reality couldnt even carry michael kangs mini guitar (i'm talking to you, artists 'arcade fire through zilla' on my itunes). please, bill nershi, if you're reading this (and as i gaze up into the sky, i know that you are), come back immediately! how about this fall? my schedule is open, as is yours. see you then.

I also saw these guys open for Lotus. The Frequency blew Lotus away! I've been waiting for this tour announcement ever since!

Not that Lotus impresses me, but I saw these guys and they impressed me less. if you like bublegum pop with some electronic noises you may like it but others even do that better...

knowing these guys personally and professionally, i can say with bias of course, that their sound was hot to Andy Horowitz at Ropeadope Records (I think he has a history of a good ear...) and to many who have seen them live either with Lotus or with BRMC. I tell ya, the most impressive thing i dig about this band is NOT the L.A. music connections (ie- quincy jones) or the crazy spacey sound that manages to maintain energy; It's their ability to cross-over musical demographics in fanBase. I don't care who you are or what you listen to: You will walk away happy you listened to The Frequency. Cheers. I'll be seeing these cats in Rochester.
