sick line up so far, but we're only halfway there. 25 artists announced, and upwards of 50 acts will appear this year. with a second main stage this year, there are still plenty of great announcements to come. i need some les!

Fordaj, what are you talking about? Moe will have great shows all three days. Umphreys will equally rock out. If the Lips play some where close I will bet that it will be the exact show that they play at Summer Camp. Don't get me wrong, the Lips are great live and very talented musicians but come on dude. The only thing that I have a problem with is with Blind Melon. Why do they tour under that name? Shannon, the old singer who passed away, made the band.

pheelalrights you have your opinion and thats fine. However people love live music because of many reasons, manly because the people who attend the shows are fun to hang out with. Bob and Phil bring out the greatest people in the world and gives us a break from the real world people. They should not hang them up until they pass. P.S U of M is lame and were you drunk when you wrote this?

Pheelalrights. You realize that hearing Bob and Phil ( and Rythm Devils) Might bring people a little joy? I meant I respect your opinion, but I sure enjoy hearing my favorite tunes from their ORIGINAL artists. I meant it's sad not to have Jerry here anymore, but you have to realize you only live once. So why not play one more time. And By the way I'm sure there isn't one show where Bob and Phil are like " let's go do Better than when we did with Jerry'" dude that's not possible, so why not enjoy what you get. I mean I'm sure you have the time and passion to like more than one "jam" act at the same time. And making you 40 year old and seeing a bunch of dead shows doesn't make you "cool", it just means that you're gonna hit the dirt before the "newbies" will.

Nice lineup. I'll take as much Umph and Moe as possible personally. However, the Flaming Lips just don't do it for me. They have a tendency to show a lot of violent and bloody visuals on the jumbo screen and I distinctly remember getting freaked out trippen at All Good 05. Hell it would appear that most of the mind expanding substances that float around these days came from a bathtub. When I spent my time enjoying the real experience, I knew my chemist, quite literally. I hope you know yours!

Additionally, I know from my own life the dirt can strike at any moment no matter your age. If you haven't figured that out yet, you got a lot of learning to do. I wish you luck, grace, and peaceful enjoyment of all you encounter in life.

Enjoy them as you will, but if you missed the Fat Man, you'll never know what it was like going to see the subsequent incarnations.

bnaylor,

UM is what? I'm assuming you mean University of Mass., or some other UM, b/c UM is not by any means lame. Those guys are a talented group of educated musicians that orchestrate an experience. Apparently you have no appreciation for a well put together show. I guess that's probably because you don't know what one is. I'm sorry that you can't enjoy the vibe and music of an obviously talented group of musicians.

I am still in shock that you would write that when they will probably be one of the bands that actually become successful from this genre. Your comments are indicative of your ignorance. I'm sorry your musical genetic pool is so shallow. Additionally, I'm sorry that you think that Bobby and Phil don't deserve to retire and enjoy life. I hope you get to; I know I will.

summercamp is where its at. been there the last 2 years and it was great, especiall last year. cops last year were only minimal. i think 9 or 10 people got pulled by undercovers all weekend. late nights are where its at beside more, they cost like 15$, but its in a a/c barn. beer is 25$ for 2 6 packs of heady bottles. the main stage years past wasn't huge but i hear theyve got 2 this yea. Im sstill hoping ofr a lotus late night that would way top sts9.

one question...where is BISCO?.. they are the band that lotus, moe, umphs, sts9 copied off of.... as for complaining about phil and bobby....well, last i checked the dead stayed the dead after pigpen, kieth and brent left us.... did Jerry say "oh well the original members are not here so lets split up?..... nope!... and the band kept playing on! so cavemandan - you're saying that an americana-based rock band, a versatile prog-rock band, and an electronic/hip-hop band copied a one-trick "psy-trance" band with mediocre lyrics, songs and singers? some of which, as radioheader mentioned, came before the bisco triscuits? get a clue.

while you all are fighting about who copied who and about various GD incarnations, I'm gonna go ahead and anawer some of the Qs being asked. The 50 are not an issue, the sherif drives around on a golf cart, but he seems cool.the late night is the worst thing about camp because it costs 15$,its in a barn that is hot and you have to dance on concrete (don't drop your piece) but I heard some people say they are gonna put up another main stage so maybe they'll finally fix this prob and have free late night on a stage. There is no swimming hole. Booze is easy to get in AFTER you make you initial entrance. This is not car camping, you park and then shlep your gear in(bring a radioflyer)you pick where you camp and it can be very close to the stages. hope that helps Momodub and pwah189, oh yeah and to the rest of you- all music is copied, all the notes have been played and all the band on this website are "stealing" from Robert Johnson

Robert Lockwood jr. Blind Lemon Jefferson, Duke Ellington, Gershwin, Aaron copland, Muddy Waters Howlin' WolfLittle Walter Big Walter Horton

T-Bone Walker Lightning Hopkins,Elmore James, David Honeyboy Edwards

Buddy Guy, B.B. King, Albert King, Freddy King, Albert Collins, Jimmy Reed, James Cotton, Jimmy Rogers, Armstrong,Dylan, richie havens, james brown,Jhon Coltrane, miles davis. There's a bunch of full videos on there. Cornmeal is about to explode, I can promise you that.

Adding the Roots. . .. sweet. . . . . Summercamp VS. Allgood for my money this summer (Rothberry just has too many stages and too long of a drive from the south)

bryan - i doubt it will bring that lame of a crowd. the popped-collar frat type won't pay good money for a three day fest just to see oar. i'm sure they'll play during the day during a much cooler show that everyone will go to instead.

OAR sucks a big one. thats probably why they're playing bonnaroo. but who cares, the roots and lotus are boss.

Why is everyone so god damned mean. Everyone is attacking everyone here...this is terrible and is not how i would think our little music community would be.

I have been to Summercamp the last 4 years, and although this isn't looking like the strongest lineup, it still has many acts i want to see that deffinatly outweigh the DOUBLE price for a much more mainstream festival (Rothberry) now i am NOT saying rothberry is terrible, and dont go there, im saying i would PREFER to go to sumemrcamp, because it is more then half the price (100 dollar vs 275) and there is a VERY good sounding main stage. rothberry is BRAND new, NO ONE KNOWS ANYTHING ABOUT THIS FESTIVAL. So you CANNOT say ANYTHING to compare that to any other festivals.

roth berry is expecting over 50K people.....i DO NOT like large crouds that draw from MAINSTREAM acts...aka 311 DMB panic, modest mouse, SNOOP DOG?

i am NOT SAYING THESE BANDS SUCK, i like them ALL accually, but the crowd that will gather will be a repeat performance of bonnaroo, it will be good for maybe a few years, then it WILL go to hell.

Summercamp is expecting less then 15k people, a nice small festival, were the people are all VERY friendly. but now bringing in OAR, im expecting to see LOTS more underage, or college age poppy preppy people. what im saying, is by bringing in mainstream acts (aka metallica LOL and snoop dog) your going to bring in a MUCH different croud as opposed to only nershi, sts9, lotus, HBR, cornmeal <---bands not many people know because of non-advertisement and independent labels.

GUYS CAN WE PLEASE JUST RESPECT OTHERS OPINIONS AS OPPOSED TO BASHING ON EVERYONE THAT LISTENS TO SOMETHING DIFFERENT!

i wish people would just grow up, it seems like half the users of jambase are high schoolers looking to bully people with there "knowledge" of music.

Peace guys, i will see you all at summercamp, 10klf, greatful garcia gathering, cavefest. and maybe a few more if time, work, money provides!

everyone else...can we focus on the positive for once?

we get: flaming lips, the roots, lotus, parliament funkadelic, g love, the roots, and a bunch of other bands that no other festivals will get this year. and for really cheap with really good people. so lets be happy and start the positivity of that weekend right here on this board.

Im going on buck fishes comment to, but to correct it slightly.

There is a place to swim, go across the street from the entrance of the festival, cross the train tracks and you will see bunches of abandon warehouses (scary shit, i swear its from a movie) to the right and over the field you will find the river that is MORE the suited to swim in. We did in 06' we found at least 20 people chillen down there from the festival many times.

Had to correct it as i was VERY happy to find it because i didn't know about it in 05'.

lol, BY the WAY phatBOY thanks FOR trying TO GET that POINT across SO SUBTLETY!

I'm lovin all this positive vibes. i just don't get where all this music is going to take place. does anyone know how they will fit the lips, OAR, Moe, and STS9 all on a night time bill without overlapping each other? because they all fit in for playing some shit in the dark, minus OAR, but you know they will play at night sometime.sorry for the negativity on OAR, i just don't get it.

The Roots, UM, Moe., Cornmeal, Tea Leaf Green,Hot Buttered Rum, Flaming lips, and Family Groove Company are all Gimmies on being great shows! There is also a lot of other really strong bands there, that I'm sure will keep everybody happy. Who cares about 1 or 2 bands there that you might not like. Out of the 50 that will be there, I'd say that's pretty damn good. Plus the stages are pretty close so, if their are two bands you want to see playing at once it's not really any problem to go catch both. This is one of the BEST festivals I've been to. Please don't drag it down to that level, whining like children about who's not there. Be happy that this is HANDS DOWN the best line up for the money of the summer. Cheer up, it's gonna be great!!!

yeah you pay for the late nights, last year i think it was $15 per ticket, but it is totally worth it. They always have a great opener for the late night act. Plus the Moe-Umphrey's tag team is always worth going to. Also they have a free separate bluegrass stage that is outside.

i don't understand why anyone would take a personal stab at the promoters for this festival. if anyone commenting here knew anything about the folks at jay goldberg events, you'd know that they do what they do because they love live music. Hey Tehsay - why don't you take your negative attitude and name-calling somewhere else on memorial day weekend. if you want to talk about this any further feel free to call me. my name's mike and you can find my work number listed for the offices at www.jaytv.com

otherwise, don't type unless you know what you're typing about.

Summercamp is the shit. The best part is that you dont camp by your car. Its awsome because I never bring anything to festivals except the clothes I am wearing and a big water bottle. Plus the demos in the church are pretty cool and yep pretty much its the best fest

Oh yeah and if you think rothbury is better remmember its like twice as much money at least and like 5 times as many people and the more people the shittier the festival is, in my opinion, oh and all the DMB and john mayer douche bags that will be there

oh yeah back to summercamp, groovatron, banyan, and family groove company, P-funk, F lips, and the roots, and cornmeal and HBRSB, the only thing that will make this complete would be Les Claypool, Ween, and Buckethead, and maybe something with Mike Patton

I don't understand why everyone is so negative on here. I'm acutally happy that OAR will be there. They really put on a good show live, unfortuantely it's ususally the drunk high schoolers that do ruin their shows. And No, I'm not some popped collar frat boy either. I've been looking forward to this festival for moe., Umphey's, Cornmeal, Tea Leaf Green and most of the others before the newer artist lists were even added. There will be something there for everyone with all tastes for the Jam scene. We're all supposed to accept the music and share the love. I sure hope that's the way it will be Memorial Day weekend. One more thing, Keller or Les would be killer to add to the lineup.

You should all just appreciate music and events like this for what it is. Whether you go straight or not, dont criticize. This is a new chance for each and every one of you to enjoy meeting new people and watch music performed right in front of your eyes. You can only learn from experience, remember that. if you would rather sit at home and watch MTV and play with your dog then go right ahead. There are people like me who go for the sake of the beauty of music and the people aswell.

I don't know why so many people bitch about the lineups at these festivals, If you don't like some of the bands don't go to their show. Thats whats great about festy's, there is a ton of bands with multiple stages, you can pick and choose. Summer Camp is a blast. I went two years ago and I'm headed back this year. 3 Nights of moe., 2 nights of UM, plus HBR, STS9, and TLG. Can't wait

I'm really bummed I can't make it to Summer Camp. Anyone else stuck at home and planning to catch the online broadcast at www.iclips.net!!?? I've caught a few of the iClips broadcasts before, and the sound & video quality is really good for a live stream.

I'd much rather be at the festival, but at least I can still see and hear a ton of good tunes! I'm stoked to check out moe., Umphrey's, STS9, Girl Talk, Lotus and hopefully tons more!
