Big Easy Blowout in Colorado

BIG EASY BLOWOUT: MARDI GRAS CELEBRATIONS TO BENEFIT NEW ORLEANS CHARITIES

The City of New Orleans and the Gulf Coast have given the rest of the world tremendous gifts of music, culture, cuisine, art, and much more. Relief efforts have continued since Hurricane Katrina but it hasn't been enough to get the area functioning to full capacity and allow all residents to return to a sense of normalcy and comfort. To help continue the relief effort, Symbiotic Music Productions and Crescendo Artists announce a Mardi Gras Benefit Celebration with the Big Easy Blowout. All proceeds from the events will benefit the New Orleans Musicians Clinic and Tipitina's Foundation.

The two consecutive events will take place in Colorado on January 25 in Boulder and January 26 in Denver. The musical lineup will feature Page McConnell (Phish), Russell Batiste (Funky Meters, PBS), Papa Mali (Rhythm Council), Big Chief Monk Boudreaux (The Wild Magnolias, Golden Eagles) and Reed Mathis (Tea Leaf Green, JFJO). The events will have other fundraising aspects, Mardi Gras d├ęcor, and activities (including silent auctions, raffles, drink specials, food drive, New Orleans themed artwork and more). Euforquestra will support on both shows.

yes colorado is incredibly blessed with music, and im very glad that i moved out here for school. but its seriously stupid for them to put these at the same time as the STS9 shows. colorado kids LOVE STS9, these should be afterparties. but then again Conspirator (disco biscuits side project) is playing the afterparty at Cervantes on the 25th

for shows at cervantes, the headliners usually start around midnight at the earliest.. prefuse 73 didnt start until about 1 am this past weekend.. so if these guys want to play their cards right, theyll wait until 11:30 or so when sts9 will most likely be done.

i am the guy thats hosting this event. the show at cervantes will be going on stage late (around 11:30) and lasting even later... it is a mardi gras party and we are doing everything we can to make it feel as freaky as the New Orleans mardi gras party. come in your flashy and ragen' costums and you'll fit in just fine. ALSO... check out Big Chief Monk Boudreaux on my space.... he is leading the parade. thanks for your support!!! joel at Symbiotic Music Productions

Its not that bad of an idea to have the shows teh same time as sts9. I'd be willing to bet both sts9 and Page shows will be sold out each night-- there are enough music fans to fill both, plus not everyone loves STS9. I know myself Im catchin sts9 first night and then page the 2nd-- sts9 plays here all the time, and this sounds like a fairly rare experience

I went to this show after the STS9 Fillmore show. What a spectuacular set. They had a crazy crowd rocking until after 3am. STS9 before was a rediculous time in itself. After walking into Cervantes to stumble upon this...amazing. So much fun
