really great shots.. their light show last year was fucking out of this world, and it looks like it may have been even better this year.. can anyone comment on how the show was? was the sound better this year?

i dig the building blocks..

I was there, great show. The first set was all of 30 minutes, strange. The second set and third were much more rocking. But U2? I don't get it man, that really sucked in my book. The did rock the encore afterwards, but it kind of stole the energy from the room. I still had a great show, great lights, still one of the best venues any of us will get a chance to see.

Great show great lights awsome accoustics. first set could have been longer but they def. made up for it. The brent black> lazarus> brent black was worth the price of admission alone rockin good time

Overall this was an unbelievable show, I had a great time. The first set was really REALLY short but that didn't bother me as much as the way they botched the countdown. they ended the first set at 11:30 or something and then didn't come back on until 11:59. They started with the countdown but then didn't even go into a song at midnight...instead they took a while trying to get everyone to stomp and clap (nearly impossible at midnight on nye and it was just sort of unnecessary) before they went into one of their new songs, Raise a Glass. Yes, I was excited to hear the new song and I thought it was great (it'll be their encore for the entire next part of their tour) but I kind of thought it was inappropriate to play a new song that nobody had ever heard at midnight. I was expecting the countdown to be in the middle of an awesome set at the climax of an awesome song...didn't quite happen that way. That said, the third set was definitely the best set of them all and they made up for the strange countdown. But the third set was about two hours and the first set was about 40 minutes. They could have done a better job timing the sets, that's all. But seriously, whatever, it was moe. on new years! It was so sick, I would definitely go back next year. And yes the light show rocked.

jbleiche that was a really great comment. i really wanted the author to shed light on what was going on that first set because i was really confused on how long the first set could be.

What a nightmare Radio City Music Hall is / was. Thanks to their lovely security all my man and I got was the the first set which left some to be desired. Forcing everyone out one door to smoke is a great idea. Not letting them back inside is even better. We missed the whole countdown because the jackasses at the front door and side door could not get their sh__ together. We tried getting back in the front...they told us to go to the side...we went to the side they told us to go to the front. We tried 4 times before they finally let us back in AFTER MIDNIGHT!!!! We missed the whole thing. We tried to put it behind us and enjoy the rest of the show. Not happening as a big angry woman had it out for my man...every time he started to get down she would interrupt and tell him to squeeze more into the jammed row. And I mean every time. We were so furious. I asked to speak with a manager he smiled and nodded did nothing and we opted to just leave. We had planned this show since July, had 5th row seats they would not usher us to, traveled from Montana, and are really sad we opted to do this nightmare of a show. FU NY

i was there. good show over all. The encore was a little bit sleepy, but they were just wrapping things up. I agree with some of the other comments. Going into a new song at new years seems like a little bit of a marketing plan for their new cd. Why not play the new hit off their new cd when everyone attending is in the room (less mamamich). They looked at it as a way to make money and raise sale and awareness of their new cd. Why not go into 32 things or meat, or something with some balls after the countdown or for the encore at leat though? Give your fans what they want. What about the traditional aude lang synth? (however you spell it). Either way, I'm happy I was able to go to moe. (and the the bisco shit show)

Looks like a great light show - nice shots! I was tempted to see moe., but was outvoted. Sorry some people had a lousy time. We wound up across town at TERMINAL 5 for Gogol Bordello - they did not really jam so much as they rocked that place! It was a total blast - drinks were reasonable, the crowd was great, security was chill...can't wait for Mars Volta next week! But I'm hoping for moe. next year to ring in 2009. Happy New Year everyone.

yea i had some major beef with security last year.. lots of pricks with no rock show or general party sensibilities. i got pissed when they told me to get out of the aisles constantly, but i usually just ended up back there til they came around the next time. lame staff = weird vibe = not as easy to have a good time. sorry to hear it happened again this year.

this was a sick show. I understand the first short set b/c when you are navigating through literally over a million people in times square, one needs a moment to adjust the the "nye shoe." setting... The show was sexcellent indeed! and I personally loved the U2 cover! can't wait for the the next 5 shows i am going to over this winter... they will be grrrreat

gimme some moe.!!!!!!!!!!

The show was pretty sick, but as everyone said earlier, security was really tightly wound. My buddies and I were stalled at like 60th and 8th and missed the entire 1st set, cause some cop who looked fresh out of high school told us how worried he was about terrorists. I originally wanted to see Mule at the Beacon, but I got outvoted. I was looking for a good NYE stompdown and I definitely got that, so I can't complain.

Mamamich......should have rocked the Mule! I love moe. but the Gov't Mule show was just plain AWESOME! Very laid back security from my perspective. Great time. Sorry your night was not as good.

i really love moe. but after reading all these comments i gotta say i'm so freaking happy i went to see the biscuits again this NYE! the show was incredible, the crowd was so much fun (not the typical bisco crowd at all strangely enough), and even the security guards were getting down!! the vibe was unbelievable... sorry u guys had to deal with bullshit security and jerks not looking out for each other. still love moe. though!!!

I thought this show was amazing. Ive been to alot of shows and id have to say this was the best show ive been to all year, and one of the best moe. shows ive ever been to. sorry to hear some people didnt have the time of there life, security wouldnt let me sneak up to the front but besides that, i had no problems with them at all. we werent allowed to smoke or anything but no body stopped me and i stood next to a security guard the whole time

I saw Motely Crue on NYE for my New Years show in Detroit, Motely Crue Year, the year of two thousand Nicky Six. They played U2's New Years Day after their countdown to midnight and I thought it was TERRIBLE. I'm not a U2 fan, but seeing Motely Crue cover U2 made the song even worse, in my book. I am a huge Moe. fan and went to their NYE run last year and loved it. Missed this years run, but seeing the encore with U2's News Year Day would have made me upset.

First off the show was great, but like ANY moe. show there are hi's and lo's all at once. Good Points: The sound at RCMH is THE BEST! Light show/Mirrored Ball solo was insane. Audience sing-a-long with Rebubula, Spine, and Plane Crash also great. The 3rd set that would not end (almost 2am when over) Baad Points: New Drinking Song BeeeeLOWS (sorry it does) 2 song first set (Even though they rocked out the end of it, WTF?!?!) $7 bottles of Buttwiper (puh-leeze) For those complaining about the streets outside being crowded and not taking into account the fact that Times Square is like 8 blocks away and even foot traffic would be difficult...Shame On You!! As far as dealing with security...Remember that you are in NYC, get there early, introduce yourself, ask them their name slip them a $20, show them all your freinds that are sitting with you and you wouldn't be bothered ALL NIGHT! Also to the ASS CLOWN that dumped a garbage bag of glitter off the lobby balcony as everyone was leaving Thanks for giving RCMH any reason not to let moe. back there to play. The staff got TOTALLY pissed off and caused them to push everyone out at the end of the night. Way to go shithead...

The first set was very short. It wasn't the end of the world it was a-ok in my book.... Now the countdown... That was a mess. Thank you moe. I expected something a lot better than that, last years was way better. The setlist in total was sick but the timing of the midnight jam was completely off, as far as the new song I thought it was really good but it would have made a much better encore than a end the year jam, I don't know what the funk they were thinking. Radio City music hall: YOU SUCK. My group was by the doors and we seen a bunch of kids getting kicked out and there was a patrol of about 8 huge goons coming by about every 15 minutes shining a flashlight in the sections making sure nobody was minding their own buisness. I have lived in the NY area forever, seen about half of my shows in NYC, seen SCI at Radio City was much better vibe that year, seen Moe. there last year was also much better vibe to it. I am so sick of seeing shows in NYC. I'm moving to New Orleans soon funk this NYC 1narc-to-1kid ratio. Long live moe. Dear NY, continue to rot away and treat everyone that comes into the city like a criminal or a sucker. The flow of letting people back in after the second set break was despicable, we made it in with a few minutes to spare but I know a hell of a lot of people did not. I was considering not even going back into the show because of the lame ass scene that was taking place inside. RCMH can stick with the rockettes, save the rock and roll for rock and roll friendly places. The event staff that works the NY shows is terrible, I had equal problems over at the Beacon a few nights earlier when Keller was opening for Mule. I guess its true that "THE WEST IS BEST!" You shouldn't have to bribe the security to not get thrown out, and the security should be securing everyones good time, not violating our rights. Someone should start a lawsuit.

P.s. The Music was awesome but its hard to enjoy yourself at a rock and roll show in a nazi prison camp. Unless you want your stuff taken away from you, to get thrown out, to have your stuff redistributed from the same security guard to someone else, don't go to Radio City. Only way I'd go back is if Jerry himself made a special trip back! Wheres the love? NOT IN NY.

The show was great- could have been arranged a bit better but they played so tight it was unbelievable.

People at RSMH are dicks- I needed some air and we tried for 20 minutes to get outside and my friend even tried to pay the doorguy $50 to let us get some air and he said no.

But I can say now that I was kicked out of Radio City Music Hall's Gentleman's Lounge for smoking!!

Great times. If you had a problem with the security, you clearly didn't know enough to be up on one of the Mezz's.. No problems where we were, the sight, sound and security were all great!!! Setlist was imperfect, countdown was off, but I never looked at a watch so we celebrated on moe. time! All in all, an amazing time. Enjoyed every set, and encore. The short 1st set actually worked well for us, because someone in our section was a mess. Longer set would have just made me smack this biatch!!

I know moe allowed some peps to patch in to the soundboard. Anybody know where I can get a copy? Yes, security was a pain, but the venue is amazing and the show was really tight minus a few snags. I am not a U2 fan, but it was cool to hear Chuck belt it out and when they went in to George, I felt completely redemed. Happy New Year!

this show was as good as last years new years show . I was at both and was not the slightest bit dissapointed. I will agree the first set was a little short but understandable being they rocked the place till 2 in the morning. I do agree the drinking song sucked......WAY to slow for right after the fuckin ball dropped.....however the lazarus made up for it. I personally think the U2 cover wqas off the wall......just another example of how moe can take any song and not only rip it to shreds, but add their own little touch to it and make it different. I was pretty surprised how humble chuck was through out the definatey hogged the show i felt. see you kids at the electric factory on the first
